The Nokia 8 V 5G has finally received an official release date for the United States. Following several delays, HMD Global today confirmed its latest Android smartphone will become available for puichase stateside come November 9th. That’s next Monday, for those keeping track of the working week.

Like its name indicates, this particular handset will be an exclusive for Verizon customers, as well as those willing to become ones. In other words, it will be available alongside two-year contracts from Verizon Wireless. Its price comes down to $699 divided by 24 months, as expected. If the smartphone itself looks familiar, that would be because the Nokia 8 V 5G is an upgraded version of the Nokia 8.3 5G. The latter was officially announced back in March but took all the way until September before releasing in the United States as an unlocked device via resellers such as Amazon and Best Buy.

The Nokia 8 V 5G isn’t simply a reskinned version of that model, however. As the original only offers sub-6GHz 5G connectivity, whereas the Verizon-exclusive model also works with millimeter-wave (mmWave) 5G networks. Or network, singular, to be more specific – that from Verizon.

Other than that, this is the same Snapdragon 765G device set to compete with the likes of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition and the OnePlus 8.
