Nintendo has recently announced the release date for Bayonetta 2.
In a press release issued by Nintendo it was announced that Bayonetta 2’s official release date will be October 24th. Both the retail and eShop versions of the title will see a release that day, but Nintendo’s press release seems to indicate that only the retail copy will bundled with the original Bayonetta.
Previously, Nintendo had announced that the upcoming Wii U exclusive would come bundled with an enhanced version of the original Bayonetta that features new costumes based off of classic Nintendo characters. There had been some confusion among fans of the series as to whether the eShop version of Bayonetta 2 would also include the original Bayonetta.
The official website still states that the eShop version of the game will include the original Bayonetta, while the press release seems to indicate otherwise:
Bayonetta 2: The witch is back on Oct. 24. The game features over-the-top battles with wild weapons that take place in gorgeous set pieces. A new snake transformation lets Bayonetta better navigate underwater. The original Bayonetta game, complete with some Nintendo cosplay options for the powerful heroine, comes bundled with the retail packaged version of Bayonetta 2.
Until Nintendo clarifies what is included in the eShop version of Bayonetta 2, fans of the series will have to wait and see what the outcome is when the Wii U exclusive hits retail and eShop on October 24th.
