Warrior sieges Medieval Castles in MMO Melee:Battlegrounds

by GH Staff

Melee:Battlegrounds is a combat-oriented medieval game with an emphasis to fully develop a 360 sword-fighting encounters and war simulations in the next level. Instead of controlling a massive army, players will customize and play as one warrior who can participate in duels, raids, sieges against massive strongholds, etc. In fact, Donkey Crew provides a better description about this indie project and its game modes through this short but high definition trailer:

As previously mentioned, this international team has been modifying attacks. While folks can stab and swing, these online players can also feint (an offensive movement resembling an attack in all but its continuance), which adds more diverse fighting techniques then quickly spamming a button. By mastering several moves, the player can face formidable opponents on the battlegrounds, but they must stay alert because archers and mounted horsemen can eradicate them as well. When they’re not facing off in the fields, personal computer users can try to reclaim the fortress with siege weapons like the ram, etc.

Current, this indie crowd-funding project requires $96,326 USA to reach the initial goal of $130,000 in 15 days. If folks pledge $21 or more, they can receive a digital copy of the game in March 2016. As a quick reminder, Melee: Battlegrounds is the spiritual sequel to the popular Mount & Blade Warband mod cRPG. The creators also host a TeamSpeak Q&A meetings to chat with interested supporters at teamspeak.melee.org each Sunday from 5pm to 7pm (UTC/GMT) until KickStarter ends.
