Ever wondered what a HD remastered version of Super Mario 64 would be like? Well wonder no more. A small team of dedicated fans are in the midst of creating a Super Mario 64 HD as a free fan project. The game is an entire recreation of the original Super Mario 64 originally released on Nintendo 64, but with improved graphics.
An interview was released back in March with the then only developer on the project ‘Aryoksini’. However, in that time more people have stepped forward and the team has grown. A new developer showcase trailer detailing progress has been released recently. The trailer is over three minutes long, and includes gameplay. You can check it out below.
Nintendo have already released a remake for Super Mario 64 in the past. Super Mario 64 for Nintendo DS was released in 2004 to an amazing reception. However, that doesn’t make this project any less exciting, and it’s amazing what this small team is achieving. For more updates on the Super Mario 64 HD fan project, keep your eyes on GamerHeadlines.
