Dailymotion has officially launched a brand-new live-streaming service called “Dailymotion Games.”
Dailymotion Games, which is currently in its beta phase, will cater to both the gaming and eSports community through its “custom-built environment for viewing, sharing, uploading and streaming personal gaming and gaming competitions,” according to Dailymotion’s press release.
Martin Rogard, chief operating officer at Dailymotion, has said that the company is planning to “significantly increase” investment in the eSports sector of Dailymotion Games over the next few months.
“Since 2011, with the first Dailymotion Cup on Starcraft, Dailymotion has accompanied eSport growth on the Internet,” he said.
“Dailymotion Games is entirely dedicated to eSports fans and streamers who come together every evening to form an amazingly talented and gregarious community.”
Signing up to Dailymotion Games and producing content will allow users to monetize the videos they have created, Dailymotion has confirmed.
Earlier this month, a free Dailymotion app was released for iOS, Android and PlayStation 4.
