Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima will be revealing new information on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at Taipei Game Show 2015.

The Japanese developer will be holding a stage event at Sony Computer Entertainment’s booth on January 31st from 1PM, according to Metal Gear Asia’s Facebook page.

“It’s been 4 years since [Hideo Kojima’s] last visit [to Taipei Game Show], but he’s back to announce new information for the upcoming, highly demanded title MGSV:TPP! Don’t miss it,” reads the Facebook post.

With Kojima continuing to make progress on The Phantom Pain’s development, and voice actors Robin Atkin Downes (Kazuhira Miller) and Jay Tavare (Code Talker) recently recording further dialogue for their characters, it’s possible that the “new information” being revealed is a long-awaited release date for the title.

Yesterday, Troy Baker, who is the voice of Revolver Ocelot in The Phantom Pain, claimed that Hideo Kojima’s open-world title “may be the biggest game I’ve ever seen,” while also talking about the reverence he has for fellow actor Kiefer Sutherland, the voice of Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain.

Running on Kojima Productions’ Fox Engine, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is rumoured to launch in Q2 of 2015 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
