Mojang has revealed that Minecraft: Pocket Edition has surpassed 30 million copies sold across all platforms including iOS, Android and most recently Windows which was expanded to last year in December. The handheld version of the games last landmark revealed was in April 2014 where the game surpassed 21 million copies resulting in around one million sales every month. On all platforms, Minecraft has amassed approximately 60 million sold copies making it the fourth best selling video game of all time. Behind titles like Tetris, Wii Sports and The Oregon Trail.
Mojang has also announced that players will be able to change their in-game name with an update going live on February 4th. The system will allow players to change their name every 30 days. Changing your name will not change your status or inventory.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition is currently available on iOS, Android and Windows Phone. Minecraft is available on PC, Mac OS X, Linux, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and Playstation Vita.
