The Order: 1886 Officially Goes Gold

The CEO, founder and creative director at the California-based Daxter developer Ready at Dawn has announced that the studio’s latest title and PlayStation 4 exclusive, The Order: 1886, has officially gone gold. This essentially means that the development for the game has finished, and that the alternate London third-person shooter will soon release to the gamers next month.

Ru Weerasuriya, the CEO in question, announced this final stage of The Order: 1886’s development on Twitter. “Here’s to everyone who walked the road with us,” he exclaimed, tweeting an accompanying image of a row of wine glasses filled with apparently champagne along with the announcement.

It’s likely that nothing new will be added to the game until after its release on Friday, February 20th, as the term “going gold” means that the product (in this case a game) is ready to be delivered to consumers.

The Order: 1886 takes place in alternate history where an ancient order sees to the protection of humanity from monsters, such as werewolves and half-breeds. Several centuries ago in the game’s fictional universe, war broke between humans and humans who took on more beastial traits. Humanity has been losing this one-sided conflict ever since it started, with the half-breeds being superior in strength regardless of their low numbers.
