EA’s Madden 21 is now available on Stadia and those who have Stadia Pro subscriptions can play it for free over the weekend, up until Monday, February 1st. This should provide enough time for players to see whether the game is worth a full purchase.
Are more (EA Sports) games coming to Stadia?
EA’s football simulator reached Google’s game streaming platform at a convenient time, as the Super Bowl between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs is slated to take place next week. The timing is hardly a coincidence, of course, but that doesn’t make a free weekend of Madden 21 any less enticing of a prospect.
This isn’t EA’s first Stadia port, to be more precise. The company’s AAA action-adventure, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is quite a popular choice among Stadia players to this date. Apart from Stadia, Madden 21 was previously released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. There’s even a smartphone game based on the same IP, though it’s understandably not as feature-packed.
For the uninitiated, Stadia is Google’s cloud-powered gaming platform that lets you instantly play video games on pretty much any somewhat modern screen that you already own. The main selling point of the service is, therefore, the ability to play the latest games at close-to-maximum graphics settings without having to invest in expensive PC hardware – and without waiting around for huge downloads and installations to finish.
