Sentinels signed duelist Francis "OXY" Hoang from Cloud9 on November 2, landing the first piece of their VCT 2027 rebuild on a guaranteed Americas partner roster.

Sentinels have their new duelist. On November 2 Sentinels announced the signing of Francis “OXY” Hoang from Cloud9, posting on X that “a new star for a new era” had arrived and that “@Lft_Oxy is officially a Sentinel.” The official VALORANT Champions Tour account confirmed the move within the hour, writing that “the start of a new journey” had begun and welcoming OXY to their 2027 VCT roster.

Two days earlier, on October 31, Sentinels CEO Rob Moore wrote that the team had released Jerrwin and JonahP and had already identified replacements he called “S tier.” He also wrote that new additions could not be announced “until on or after November 2.” OXY’s announcement landed on that date, the first day Moore’s timeline allowed it.

OXY’s background and role

OXY’s X profile lists G2 Valorant, Dark Ratio, and Moon Raccoons ahead of a multi-season run with Cloud9, where he was the team’s primary duelist. The duelist enters a bombsite first and takes the opening fight of each round, so the rest of the team plays off that first contact. Sentinels’ farewell to Jerrwin thanked him for carrying “the torch of a Sentinels Duelist,” and OXY fills that role. His departure also leaves Cloud9 with a duelist vacancy of its own to solve in the same window.

OXY’s signature agent is Neon, a mobility-focused duelist whose kit rewards aggressive first engagements.

From outside the partnership to inside it

Sentinels kept their place among the eight VCT Americas partner teams when Riot revealed the 32 partner organizations for VCT 2027. Cloud9 competed in VCT Americas through 2026 but does not appear on the new partner list. The 32 partner slots are split evenly across four regions, and the Americas field for the new cycle is 100 Thieves, G2 Esports, KRÜ Visa, Leviatán Esports, LOUD, MIBR, NRG, and Sentinels.

Partner teams get a locked schedule and a share of league revenue. Organizations outside the partnership reach the circuit through open qualifiers. The 2027 partner selection runs for two seasons, so the organizations on the list hold their spots through 2028. OXY moves from the open-qualifier path to a guaranteed top-tier slot in the same offseason, without leaving the Americas region where he built his career.

LOUD enters 2027 as the reigning world champion after beating Team Vitality in the VALORANT Champions 2026 final. Cloud9 lost its partner spot in the same announcement and now has to rebuild around the players who remain.

The roster that is taking shape

OXY joins the three players who remained after the October releases: in-game leader johnqt, Reduxx, and cortezia. Sentinels announced the Jerrwin release on October 30 and the JonahP release a day later. Sentinels now have four of five starting spots filled and need one more player before the VCT Americas Kickoff. Moore described the departures and the additions as one continuous rebuild.

OXY takes over the entry duties, leaving Reduxx and cortezia to keep their existing roles.

What comes next

The VCT Americas Kickoff opens the 2027 season, and it will be the first time OXY and the new roster play an official match together.

KRÜ Blaze beat Gentle Mates GC 3-2 in São Paulo to win the 2026 Game Changers Championship, giving Latin America its first world title in the inclusive circuit.

KRÜ Blaze are the Game Changers world champions for 2026. The Argentine organization beat Gentle Mates GC 3-2 in the grand final on Sunday, November 1, at Riot Games Arena in São Paulo, closing out a lower-bracket run and handing Latin America its first title in the circuit’s history, according to Riot Games’ official VALORANT Esports coverage.

The tournament ran from October 22 to November 1 in São Paulo, Brazil, and brought ten teams into a double-elimination bracket playing for a $500,000 prize pool. Early rounds were best-of-three, with the lower bracket final and grand final shifting to best-of-five.

The field pulled teams from six regions: North America, EMEA, China, Pacific, Brazil, and Latin America, each qualified through its regional Game Changers circuit. The bracket placed teams from the same region on opposite sides to force international matchups from the first round. After a rest day on October 29, the finals weekend ran October 30 through November 1 at Riot Games Arena in São Paulo, the second time Brazil has staged the world championship. KRÜ Blaze entered as the Latin America South regional champions, and that seed held up all the way to the trophy.

How the five-map final played out

Gentle Mates GC arrived at the final unbeaten and had dropped only a single map across the whole tournament. They looked the part in the opener, taking Haven 13-5 to jump ahead in the best-of-five series. KRÜ Blaze answered immediately on Abyss with a 13-5 win of their own, then survived overtime on Sunset, 14-12, to move one map from the trophy. Gentle Mates refused to fold, forcing a decider with a 13-8 win on Split. KRÜ closed the series on Ascent, 13-8, to lift the trophy.

The swing on Sunset was the turning point. KRÜ built a 9-3 lead at halftime before Gentle Mates fought back to force overtime, and the Argentine side held firm across the extra rounds to take a 2-1 series lead. From there, even after dropping Split, KRÜ entered the deciding map with the momentum and never trailed on Ascent. The grand final was the only series Gentle Mates lost all tournament.

A lower-bracket run that reversed an earlier loss

Shopify Rebellion Gold beat KRÜ Blaze 2-0 in the upper bracket semifinal on October 27, sending them into the lower bracket needing three straight series wins just to reach the final. They got all three. KRÜ eliminated the defending champions Team Liquid Brazil 2-0 on October 28, swept MIBR GC 2-0 on October 30, and beat Shopify Rebellion Gold 3-1 in the lower bracket final on October 31, avenging that earlier loss. The deciding map of that series went to overtime, which KRÜ won 17-15 on Ascent.

The grand final win made it four consecutive series victories after falling to the lower bracket, a path that meant KRÜ played more maps than any of their rivals on the weekend. By comparison, Gentle Mates GC reached the final through the upper bracket without losing a series, beating Team Liquid Brazil, MIBR GC, and Shopify Rebellion Gold along the way. Their only defeat of the entire tournament came in the final itself.

That upper-bracket semifinal win by Shopify over KRÜ also ended Team Liquid Brazil’s title defense. The 2025 champions lost 2-0 to KRÜ in the lower bracket on October 28, finishing 5th-6th in São Paulo, their worst result at a world championship after winning the title in Seoul a year earlier. Gentle Mates GC is a French organization making its first appearance at the event. It reached the final through the upper bracket and had conceded only one map before the grand final.

Latin America’s first title, four years in the making

The championship is the first world title in the Game Changers circuit for Latin America. Previous winners came from Europe (G2 Gozen in 2022), North America (Shopify Rebellion in 2023 and 2024), and Brazil (Team Liquid Brazil in 2025). KRÜ’s own climb to the top was steady: the organization finished 7th-8th in 2022, 5th-6th in 2023, 5th-6th again in 2024, and fourth in 2025 before finally winning in 2026.

Four of KRÜ’s five players reached a grand final for the first time in their careers, with only Lorena “micaela” Ferreyra returning from the roster that finished fourth a year ago. The lineup combines four Argentine players with one Chilean, making them the first representatives of both countries to lift the Game Changers trophy. The organization has fielded a Game Changers squad since 2022, making it one of the longest-running rosters in the circuit, and it was the first Latin American organization to reach the event’s grand final.

Prize money and the MVP

Amaro “tok1o” Miranda was named grand final MVP after finishing the five-map series with 84 kills, the most of any KRÜ player. KRÜ took home $180,000 for first place from the $500,000 prize pool, with Gentle Mates GC earning $100,000 as runners-up, Shopify Rebellion Gold $70,000 for third, and MIBR GC $50,000 for fourth.

The result gives Latin America a second world championship across the two VALORANT circuits in the space of a month: LOUD won VALORANT Champions 2026 in October, and KRÜ followed with the Game Changers title in November.

What the final standalone championship means for 2027

This was the last Game Changers Championship to run as a standalone event. Riot has confirmed the competition merges into VALORANT Champions in 2027, which moves to Austin, Texas, where the inclusive circuit’s world title will be decided alongside the mixed-gender championship from September 16 to October 10. That structural change ends a format that began in 2022, and KRÜ Blaze close the standalone era as its final champion.

A standalone championship gave the inclusive circuit its own marquee weekend and its own trophy ceremony. In 2027 the world title will be decided inside a tournament that also carries the mixed-gender field, a change that could either lift the circuit’s audience through the shared stage or crowd it out of the spotlight.

The Worlds 2026 knockout bracket is locked after the Swiss Stage ended October 31, with Top Esports facing Invictus Gaming and T1 drawing Karmine Corp among four best-of-five quarterfinals starting November 3.

The Worlds 2026 knockout bracket is set. The Swiss Stage wrapped on October 31 in Allen, Texas, and the eight surviving teams were drawn into a single-elimination, best-of-five bracket that begins November 3. Top Esports against Invictus Gaming opens the quarterfinals, and the round runs four straight nights before semifinals on November 7 and 8 and a November 14 final at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Riot locked the four quarterfinal matchups on the official LoL Esports schedule, with every series at 4 p.m. CST in Allen:

November 3: Top Esports vs Invictus Gaming

November 4: Gen.G Esports vs LYON

November 5: Dplus KIA vs Bilibili Gaming

November 6: T1 vs Karmine Corp

How the draw produced this bracket

The quarterfinal draw follows a fixed rule. The Worlds 2026 primer spells out that the two teams that finished the Swiss Stage at 3-0 are each paired against a 3-2 team, and the remaining four teams are then drawn into two more matches. Gen.G Esports and Dplus KIA were the only 3-0 sides, so both landed a 3-2 opponent. Gen.G drew LYON and Dplus KIA drew Bilibili Gaming.

Everything after that is open, and same-region matchups are allowed. Top Esports and Invictus Gaming, both 3-1, drew each other, while 3-1 T1 drew 3-2 Karmine Corp. The rule protects only the two undefeated teams; everyone else draws blind, which is how two LPL teams ended up in the same quarterfinal.

The eight teams in three tiers

The five-round Swiss Stage cut a 16-team field down to these eight, and the survivors break into three tiers by Swiss record. Gen.G and Dplus KIA went 3-0, T1, Invictus Gaming, and Top Esports finished 3-1, and LYON, Bilibili Gaming, and Karmine Corp came through at 3-2. The records map directly onto how many series each team played, because three wins are required to advance and three losses to be eliminated. A 3-0 side needs three rounds, a 3-1 side four, and a 3-2 side the full five. A 3-2 team also had to survive at least one elimination series along the way, and the draw rules reserve that group for the two undefeated teams.

Undefeated teams get the friendlier path

Going 3-0 bought Gen.G and Dplus KIA the two quarterfinal draws against teams that needed all five Swiss rounds to qualify. Both teams locked their 3-0 records on October 25, and the payoff is a bracket where neither can meet the other before the final.

The reward carries a cost in the calendar. Gen.G and Dplus KIA finished the Swiss Stage on October 25, nine days before the quarterfinals open on November 3, and they sit idle while their future opponents stay match-sharp through Rounds 4 and 5. Gen.G waits until November 4 and Dplus KIA until November 5, while LYON and Bilibili Gaming both played as recently as October 31. By the time they play, Gen.G will have gone ten days without a match and Dplus KIA eleven.

An all-LPL quarterfinal caps the region’s ceiling

Top Esports against Invictus Gaming is the round’s only same-region matchup, and it is the most consequential draw of the bracket for China. The LPL sent three teams into the knockout stage, but two of them meet on day one, so the region can put at most two sides into the semifinals no matter how that series goes. The winner is guaranteed a semifinal spot; the loser goes home before either has faced a Korean team.

Bilibili Gaming carries the LPL’s other route and drew the harder task against undefeated Dplus KIA. The LCK’s three representatives, Gen.G, Dplus KIA, and T1, are all in separate quarterfinals, so all three can in principle reach the semifinals in a way the LPL cannot. The draw handed Korea that structural edge.

The West has two shots, both against the LCK

LYON and Karmine Corp are the only Western teams left. LYON qualified as the LCS’s lone survivor and faces Gen.G, while Karmine Corp, the last LEC team standing, drew T1. Both enter as clear underdogs against Korean opposition, and both reached the knockout stage the hard way at 3-2.

Karmine Corp beat Movistar KOI in the final Swiss round on October 31 to advance, and LYON beat LOS the same day. A single best-of-five upset by either side would put a Western team into the semifinals and keep at least one non-Korean region alive into the tournament’s final week.

What comes next

The quarterfinals run November 3 through 6 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, with every series a best-of-five at 4 p.m. CST. That start time lands at 11 p.m. CET for European viewers and 7 a.m. KST the following morning in Korea, so the LCK quarterfinals play out overnight in Seoul. The semifinals follow on November 7 and 8 in the same arena, and the two finalists get a six-day break before the November 14 final at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which starts at 2 p.m. EST.

The format also changes for the knockout stage. The Swiss Stage mixed best-of-one and best-of-three series depending on the round, but every knockout series from the quarterfinals onward is a best-of-five. A single game can no longer end a team’s run, which removes the swing of the best-of-one Swiss matches and forces each side to beat the same opponent three times.

The bracket splits into two halves. The Top Esports/Invictus Gaming and Gen.G/LYON winners meet in one semifinal, and the Dplus KIA/Bilibili Gaming and T1/Karmine Corp winners meet in the other. The semifinal pairings stay open until the quarterfinals resolve.

Riot is also running a Worlds Fan Fest at Pier 36 in Lower Manhattan from November 12 through 14, the three days leading into the final, with developer panels, guest programming, and community events built around the closing weekend. Worlds Pick’Ems and Crystal Ball predictions are open on the official site, with rewards delivered after the tournament concludes.

PUBG Esports is splitting EMEA and the Americas into smaller regions and adding India for 2027, replacing its circuit system with a four-phase calendar and a single points table earned only at PGS.

PUBG Esports is rebuilding its competitive calendar for 2027. The PUBG Esports team announced the changes in an official Steam news post on October 28, splitting the existing regional system into smaller competitions, adding India as a full region, and replacing the season-long points structure with four separate phases and a unified points table.

The restructure touches every layer of the ecosystem: which regions exist, how teams reach the PUBG Global Series (PGS), and how they qualify for the year-ending PUBG Global Championship (PGC).

EMEA and the Americas break into smaller regions

The biggest immediate change is regional. According to the PUBG Esports team, the existing EMEA region will be split into three: Europe, Eurasia, and MENA. The Americas are divided into North America and South America. And India, which the announcement describes as “home to a massive community of PUBG fans and players,” joins as a new competitive region on its own.

The result is a smaller-region structure than the broad EMEA and Americas competitions PUBG Esports ran in 2026. PUBG Esports already ran separate Americas and EMEA competitions in 2026, including the PUBG Americas Series 2 and the PEC Fall Playoffs. The 2027 change splits those regions further, so a team that once competed in one broad EMEA field now plays in Europe, Eurasia, or MENA instead.

For teams, the split changes the math of qualification. A narrower region means fewer squads competing for the same global slots, which the PUBG Esports team frames as more opportunities for new challengers. For fans, it means more regional rivalries and more distinct storylines over the course of the year.

Four phases replace the circuit system

The 2026 season ran a 12-event PUBG Global Series organized into four circuits, with PGC Points earned from Regional Leagues and PGS Points earned from PGS events. In 2027 that structure is gone. PUBG Esports will instead run four phases, from Phase 1 through Phase 4, and each phase pairs a Regional League with its corresponding PGS event.

Phase 1 feeds PGS: Phase 1, Phase 2 feeds PGS: Phase 2, and so on through Phase 4. A team’s place in one phase does not carry over to the next, so qualifying for PGS once does not lock in a return trip. The PUBG Esports team puts it directly: “The next chance is earned through performance.” New challengers get a fresh shot at the global stage every phase, while established teams have to keep proving themselves rather than coasting on an early-season result.

The four-phase rhythm breaks from the 2026 format, where the season-long PGS Points race determined the eight PGC qualifiers. The new format resets the pressure multiple times a year instead of letting one strong stretch define a team’s whole season.

One points system, earned only at PGS

2027 also unifies the qualification math. PUBG Esports Points replace the two systems that ran in 2026, where PGC Points came from Regional League results and PGS Points came from PGS results. Under the new system, points are awarded only for performance at PGS events, and they accumulate across the year toward PGC qualification.

The global stage becomes the sole currency for reaching the world championship. Strong Regional League results still matter, because they are the only route into PGS, but they no longer add directly to a team’s PGC total. The PUBG Esports team says the exact distribution of points and the full PGC qualification rules will be announced separately, so the fine print is still open.

Partner teams lose their guaranteed slots

The restructure also rewrites the Global Partner Team program. From 2027, the GPT program “will evolve into a partnership focused on collaborative in-game items and marketing activities.” The competitive guarantee is gone: all teams, including existing GPT partners, must earn their PGS place through results in each phase’s Regional League, with no guaranteed slots.

For the organizations that signed on as global partners, this is a hard shift in risk. A partnership that once included competitive security now covers commercial collaboration only, and even the largest partner orgs face the same qualification gauntlet as an unsigned challenger. The PUBG Esports team says further details on the updated partnership will come in a future announcement.

The 2027 calendar

The new season opens with the Regional Leagues, and the PUBG Esports team laid out a provisional schedule that runs most of the year:

Phase 1: late March to early May

Phase 2: mid May to mid June

2027 PUBG Nations Cup: early July

Phase 3: early August to mid September

Phase 4: late September to early November

2027 PUBG Global Championship: late November to early December

The announcement notes the schedule is subject to change, and detailed Regional League schedules, formats, and tournament information will be published later. It also teases “a new look for PUBG Esports” alongside the competitive changes, with more updates promised as the season approaches.

What the overhaul means

The 2027 structure is best read as a direct response to the limits of the 2026 format. A season built around four circuits and a 12-event PGS concentrated qualification drama into a single points race, and the dual PGC and PGS point systems made the path to the world championship harder to follow. The new model splits both problems: smaller regions give more teams a realistic route to the global stage, and the four-phase rhythm with one points table makes the whole season easier to track.

The India addition is the clearest growth play. India has a massive PUBG fan base, and giving the country its own competitive region creates a direct path for Indian teams and a dedicated audience for those matches. The move reads as a revenue and viewership expansion as much as a competitive one, even if the announcement frames it in terms of opportunity rather than numbers.

The partner-program change carries the sharpest consequences for organizations. Losing guaranteed PGS slots removes the main competitive incentive of the GPT program and pushes partners to stay competitive every phase or lose their global presence. How partner orgs respond, whether through roster spending or a rethink of their PUBG commitment, will shape the early 2027 season as much as the new format itself.

What remains unannounced is significant: the exact PUBG Esports Points distribution, the PGC qualification mechanics, and the Regional League formats all arrive in later updates. Until those details land, the confirmed picture is a bigger map of regions, a four-phase year, a single points system tied only to PGS, and a partner program that no longer guarantees a global stage.

Ubisoft's BLAST R6 Osaka Major runs November 6 to 15, 2026, with 20 Rainbow Six Siege teams competing for a $600,000 prize pool and Six Invitational qualification points at ATC Hall in Osaka.

Ubisoft has confirmed the BLAST R6 Osaka Major, the second Major of Rainbow Six Siege’s 2026 esports season. Teams compete for the championship and for the qualification points they need on the road to the Six Invitational. Twenty teams will compete from November 6 through 15, 2026, for a $600,000 prize pool and Six Invitational points. The playoffs run live at ATC Hall in Osaka’s Suminoe Ward from November 13 to 15.

A three-stage format

The tournament runs in three phases. A GSL group stage opens the event from November 6 to 8, a Swiss stage follows from November 9 to 11, and the playoffs close it from November 13 to 15 at ATC Hall. November 12 sits between the Swiss stage and the playoffs as a rest day. The full schedule and the list of 20 participating teams are on the official Osaka Major competition page.

The GSL stage opens the field in groups, and the Swiss stage pairs teams against opponents with similar records before the playoff bracket. The first two stages eliminate teams before the ATC Hall playoffs. Only the playoff weekend has a ticketed crowd, and every stage is streamed. The circuit spans regional competitions in North America, Europe, Brazil, South Korea, LATAM, MENA, Oceania, and Asia.

Prize money and Six Invitational points

The total prize pool is $600,000, with the winner taking the largest cut. Teams also earn Six Invitational points, commonly shortened to SI points. Osaka follows the Salt Lake City Major as the second Major of the season.

SI points accumulate across the season at the Regional Kickoff, the Salt Lake City Major, and the regional Stage 1 and Stage 2 competitions, with Osaka closing the calendar. Ubisoft tracks SI points on its global standings page, and the top teams there qualify for the Brazil Six Invitational 2027. A team that underperformed in the early events has one last chance to bank points at the final Major.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 11 season has kept the live build moving while the esports calendar runs. The Y11S3.2 patch buffed Noor’s Horus Lance, and the Y11S3.1 update buffed Buck, Castle, and Thermite, so the competitive build arriving in Osaka differs from the one that opened the season.

Predictions, bundles, and Twitch Drops

Match Predictions for the Major are now open. Fans submit their picks before the first matches on November 6, then follow the tournament as it unfolds. Correct picks earn exclusive weapon skins, Alpha Packs, and esports bragging rights.

The Osaka Major Bundle adds limited-time cosmetics created for this year’s competition. R6 Share team bundles represent each organization in-game, with a bundle available for every team in the field. Viewers who link their Ubisoft and Twitch accounts earn Twitch Drops throughout the event, as detailed in the official Steam announcement.

Watching live at ATC Hall

Fans who want to attend in person can buy a ticket for the playoffs at ATC Hall in Osaka’s Suminoe Ward, November 13 to 15. The teams battle in front of thousands of fans at the venue. The Elite package is a three-day pass priced at ¥19,000 to ¥20,000 and includes early entrance that skips the queues. The ticketing page also lists an Osaka Major 2026 merchandise bundle with an exclusive hoodie, hat, and tote bag that is not sold anywhere else.

Team Liquid swept LPL first seed Anyone's Legend 2-0 in the Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage, eliminating them without a single game win.

Team Liquid Alienware ended China’s run at the top of the Worlds 2026 bracket on Monday, sweeping LPL first seed Anyone’s Legend 2-0 to eliminate them from the Swiss Stage without a single game win. The best-of-three result in Allen, Texas kept North America’s representative alive at 1-2 and turned Anyone’s Legend into the tournament’s most striking early exit.

Anyone’s Legend arrived at the World Championship as the LPL’s top seed, placed in the official Round 1 draw’s first tier alongside Gen.G, Team Liquid, and G2. They leave it with a 0-3 record and zero maps won, eliminated in the same round that Gen.G and Dplus KIA sealed their own 3-0 paths into the Knockout Stage.

How the Swiss Stage eliminated the top seed

Worlds 2026’s Swiss Stage runs from October 23 to 31 in Allen, Texas. Sixteen teams play up to five rounds under a simple survival rule: three match wins advance a team to the Knockout Stage, and three match losses send them home. The opening rounds are best-of-one, while advancement and elimination matches are best-of-three, which raises the stakes exactly when a team has no margin left.

Anyone’s Legend never found a win under that structure. They opened with a best-of-one loss to Karmine Corp on October 23, then dropped another single-game match to fellow LPL side TOP Esports on October 24. At 0-2, their third-round meeting with Team Liquid was a best-of-three with elimination on the line, and they lost it in two straight games.

It is a collapse with no single culprit on the scoreboard. Across three series Anyone’s Legend lost to three different regions: Europe’s Karmine Corp, China’s TOP Esports, and North America’s Team Liquid. A first seed that cannot take a single map off any of them has simply been outplayed three times in a row.

Team Liquid stays alive

The win mattered just as much on the other side of the table. Team Liquid started the Swiss Stage 0-2 after losses to CTBC Flying Oyster and Bilibili Gaming, so a defeat against Anyone’s Legend would have ended their tournament in the same round. The clean 2-0 instead moves them to 1-2 and keeps a Knockout Stage path open.

Their next test is LOS, the Brazilian representative, in another best-of-three elimination match on October 30. Both teams sit at 1-2, so the winner reaches 2-2 and plays one more best-of-three for a Knockout Stage spot while the loser goes home. LOS earned that matchup by beating Team Secret Whales 2-0 earlier on Monday, a result that made Team Secret Whales the second team out of the Swiss Stage at 0-3.

Team Secret Whales’ exit followed a similar shape to Anyone’s Legend’s. The Pacific-side representative lost to LYON, Invictus Gaming, and LOS across their three rounds, finishing winless alongside the LPL’s top seed. With two teams gone and two teams qualified, twelve teams still hold a path to the Knockout Stage.

The seeding that set it up

The Round 1 draw tiers made the contrast sharper. The official draw split the sixteen teams into four tiers, with the top tier containing only Gen.G, Anyone’s Legend, Team Liquid, and G2: the four regions’ first seeds. Two rounds later, that tier has split in three directions. Gen.G is through at 3-0, Team Liquid is fighting to stay alive at 1-2, G2 is at 1-2 after losses to Dplus KIA and TOP Esports, and Anyone’s Legend is out.

Seeding buys a team a favorable first-round matchup and nothing after it. Every round re-sorts the field by record, so a first seed that drops two best-of-ones lands in the same elimination pool as everyone else at 0-2. The format does not care how it got there.

Where the bracket stands

The top of the Swiss Stage is already decided. Gen.G and Dplus KIA became the first two teams into the Knockout Stage with perfect 3-0 runs. Six teams now sit one win away at 2-1: Bilibili Gaming, Invictus Gaming, TOP Esports, Movistar KOI, T1, and LYON. Six more sit at 1-2: Team Liquid, LOS, Hanwha Life Esports, G2, Karmine Corp, and CTBC Flying Oyster.

For the LPL, the damage from losing a first seed is contained but real. Three of the region’s four teams remain at 2-1 and within a single win of the Knockout Stage, which means China can still push a majority of its field through. But the seeding narrative has already cracked: sending the top seed home winless while the region’s other three teams advance would be a strange, memorable ending to the bracket.

The Swiss Stage wraps on October 31, when the remaining eight teams will be drawn into the quarterfinals. The two 3-0 teams will be paired against two of the 3-2 teams, with the other four teams drawn into the two remaining matches, ahead of the Knockout Stage from November 3 to 14 and the final at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on November 14. The full sixteen-team field and the Day 1 matchups are laid out in our Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage field preview.

What happens next

The next two rounds decide the six remaining Knockout Stage spots. On October 30, the six 2-1 teams play best-of-three advancement matches, with the three winners moving through at 3-1. The six 1-2 teams, Team Liquid among them, play best-of-three elimination matches the same day: three winners reach 2-2, three losers are eliminated. A final round on October 31 then pits the six 2-2 teams against each other in three best-of-threes, with the three winners advancing at 3-2 and the three losers going home.

That math is the Swiss format doing exactly what it is designed to do: turn every 2-2 match into a single-series qualifier. Anyone’s Legend’s early exit is the warning for every team still in the 1-2 pool. One bad day in a best-of-three is now enough to erase a season’s seeding.

Dplus KIA and Gen.G finished the LoL Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage at 3-0 to become the first two teams into the knockout stage, while Invictus Gaming and Top Esports both moved to 2-1.

Dplus KIA and Gen.G are the first two teams through to the LoL Worlds 2026 knockout stage, closing the Swiss Stage at 3-0 on October 25 in Allen, Texas. Dplus KIA swept Movistar KOI 2-0, and Gen.G recovered from a game down to beat LYON 2-1, locking in two quarterfinal berths while the rest of the 16-team field is still fighting to survive.

Both teams now wait more than a week for their next match. The quarterfinals do not start until November 3, so Dplus KIA and Gen.G carry a nine-day layoff into the knockout bracket. That rest comes with a structural reward. At the October 31 draw, the two 3-0 teams are paired against two of the teams that get through at 3-2, which is the friendliest quarterfinal path the format offers.

Dplus KIA make it look routine

Dplus KIA entered Round 3 as one of four 2-0 teams and left it as the first team qualified. Their 2-0 sweep of Movistar KOI was the cleanest series of the day, and it dropped the LEC team to 2-1. Dplus KIA beat G2 Esports in Round 1 and T1 in Round 2, so the sweep meant they finished the Swiss Stage without dropping a single game.

Movistar KOI still have a path forward. At 2-1 they have two chances to win one more best-of-three series and advance, starting in Round 4. But the sweep laid out the gap between a sharp LCK side and an LEC contender, and it leaves Movistar KOI needing a deciding series win over either another 2-1 team or a 1-2 team to reach the knockout stage.

Gen.G drop a game, then close it out

Gen.G’s path was less clean. LYON took the opening game before Gen.G steadied and won the next two to close the series 2-1. It was the first game Gen.G lost in the tournament after beating Invictus Gaming in Round 1 and Hanwha Life Esports in Round 2.

The result still puts Gen.G at 3-0 alongside Dplus KIA, but LYON showed the other quarterfinalists a way to pressure Gen.G that Invictus Gaming and Hanwha Life Esports never found in Rounds 1 and 2. MSI 2026 already showed the East-West gap closing, and an LCS team pushing a top LCK side to three games is the same trend on the Worlds stage.

The LPL wins the other two games

The day’s two best-of-one matches both went to the LPL. Invictus Gaming beat Hanwha Life Esports 1-0, and Top Esports beat G2 Esports 1-0, pushing both Chinese teams to 2-1 while dropping Hanwha Life Esports and G2 Esports to 1-2.

Hanwha Life Esports and G2 Esports both arrived at Worlds with high expectations, and both now sit one loss from elimination. A 1-2 team needs to win two straight best-of-three series to advance, which erases any margin for error.

Invictus Gaming and Top Esports, by contrast, recovered from opening-round losses to put themselves one series win away from the quarterfinals. The LPL sent four teams into the Swiss Stage, and after a shaky start all four are still alive, with Anyone’s Legend and Bilibili Gaming still to play their Round 3 matches.

Standings after Round 3’s opening day

The Swiss Stage now splits into three groups. The qualified teams sit at the top, and the rest of the field is one result from moving in either direction:

3-0 (qualified): Dplus KIA, Gen.G

2-1: Movistar KOI, LYON, Invictus Gaming, Top Esports

1-2: Hanwha Life Esports, G2 Esports

1-1: T1, Bilibili Gaming, Karmine Corp, CTBC Flying Oyster

0-2: Anyone’s Legend, Team Liquid Alienware, Team Secret Whales, LOS

The 1-1 and 0-2 teams finish Round 3 on October 26. The four 0-2 teams play best-of-three series where the losers are eliminated at 0-3, while the 1-1 teams play best-of-one matches that send the winners to 2-1 and the losers to 1-2.

Across regions, the LCK has two teams qualified and two more, T1 and Hanwha Life Esports, still in the field. The LPL has all four of its representatives alive, with Invictus Gaming and Top Esports at 2-1. The LEC has Movistar KOI at 2-1, G2 Esports at 1-2, and Karmine Corp at 1-1. The LCS has LYON at 2-1 and Team Liquid Alienware at 0-2, the LCP has CTBC Flying Oyster at 1-1 and Team Secret Whales at 0-2, and LOS is the CBLOL’s lone team at 0-2.

What a 3-0 finish buys

Going undefeated through the Swiss Stage pays off mostly at the draw. A 3-0 team gets a quarterfinal against a 3-2 team, which by definition had to win three series across the maximum five rounds and nearly went home. A 3-2 team has already shown it can be pushed to the edge, and it has burned more of its strategy in the extra matches. Dplus KIA and Gen.G are now guaranteed to draw one of those 3-2 teams rather than a fellow undefeated side.

A cleaner quarterfinal costs a nine-day wait. Both teams go from October 25 to the November 3 quarterfinals without a competitive game, while their eventual opponents keep playing through Rounds 4 and 5 and stay match-sharp. Dplus KIA and Gen.G also stop showing new drafts and setups during that stretch, so no opponent gets fresh film on them before the knockout bracket. How the field was seeded into this Swiss Stage meant a clean start was always the clearest route to a favorable quarterfinal.

What’s next

Round 3 concludes on October 26 with CTBC Flying Oyster against T1 and Bilibili Gaming against Karmine Corp in best-of-one play, plus two elimination best-of-three series between the 0-2 teams. Round 4 then runs October 28 to 30, and Round 5 on October 31 decides the last knockout spots before the quarterfinal draw that same day.

The knockout stage runs as a single-elimination bracket of best-of-five series, with quarterfinals from November 3 to 6, semifinals on November 7 and 8, and the final on November 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

PUBG Esports' final Circuit 4 update walks through the PGC 2026 qualification race, with Virtus.pro leading the PGS Points standings as the eighth-place cutoff tightens.

PUBG Esports (Krafton) has published the final PGS Circuit 4 details for the 12-event 2026 PUBG Global Series, including the last three tournament dates and the PGS Points race that sends eight teams to PGC 2026. The Circuit 4 update confirms PGS 10, PGS 11, and PGS 12 as the closing stretch from October 14 through November 1, with PGS 11’s Final Stage running October 24-25.

Standings snapshot after Circuit 3

At the conclusion of Circuit 3, after nine PGS events, Virtus.pro leads with 261 points. Made in Thailand has 224, 17Gaming has 223, and T1 has 208. The eighth-place qualification spot belongs to Petrichor Road at 152 points. Seventh-place Falcons sit at 154, while ninth-place Gen.G Esports is at 145. PUBG Esports calls the standings a snapshot, and the update does not include PGS 11 match results or a revised points table, so the leaderboard shown stops at the end of Circuit 3 rather than the live race. The top eight PGC 2026 qualifiers remain undecided with three events left.

Why Virtus.pro holds the lead

Virtus.pro’s 261-point lead is the product of a year of steady results. PUBG Esports’ own Circuit 4 feature traces the run: a championship at PGS 3, a runner-up finish at PEC Spring, third at PGS 5, a title at the Esports World Cup, back-to-back second-place finishes at PGS 7 and PGS 8, and another second place at PEC Fall before last week’s PGS 10 title. The team also finished runner-up at PGS 9 and at PGC 2025.

The roster change that unlocked this form came in mid-2025. Longtime in-game leader ibiza moved into a coaching role, and curexi, formerly of Heroic and FaZe Clan, joined the lineup. PUBG Esports credits ibiza’s tournament-by-tournament preparation and curexi’s quick fit with the existing roster, with lukarux now handling the in-game calls. A 109-point buffer means VP can absorb a weak placement without leaving the top eight.

The eighth-place cutoff is the pressure point

The battle that will change the qualifier list is between seventh, eighth, and ninth. Falcons at 154 and Petrichor Road at 152 are separated by two points, and Gen.G Esports at 145 is seven points behind the final qualification place. In that cluster, a strong placement in one final stage can reorder the bottom of the top eight. First through fourth place have enough buffer to absorb a bad placement; the teams around the cutoff do not.

Double points at PGS 12 change the math

PGS 12 is the Circuit Final, and it doubles the point values. PUBG Esports frames Circuit 4 as a 240-point stretch across its three events, with double points on the line at PGS 12. Even a team outside the current top eight can still jump into qualification with a strong PGS 12 run, particularly because the double-points bracket arrives after PGS 10 and PGS 11 have already reshaped the circuit standings. The published Circuit 3 snapshot is therefore a poor predictor of the final eight. A team near the cutoff has the most to gain, because one big PGS 12 finish can erase a seven-point or two-point deficit and move it past multiple rivals at once.

PGC seeding matters beyond eighth place

Qualifying for PGC 2026 also sets entry stages. The first-place team goes directly to the PGC 2026 Grand Finals. The second-place team enters at Survival Stage Day 1, and the teams finishing third through eighth enter at the Qualifying Stage. For a team already inside the top eight, a fifth-place finish means fewer early elimination matches, while second place skips the Qualifying Stage entirely. Even one or two places can mean a shorter path to the Grand Finals and fewer chances to be eliminated before the main event. Third through eighth place have a reason to keep pushing in PGS 10 and PGS 11 even if their qualification buffer looks safe.

Circuit 4 bracket mechanics compress the final weeks

Circuit 4 begins with PGS 10 Group Stage on October 14, then Winners Stage on October 15, Survival Stage on October 16, and Final Stage on October 17 and 18. PGS 11 opens with the Winners Stage on October 22, Survival Stage on October 23, and Final Stage on October 24 and 25. PGS 12 has the Survival Stage on October 29, then Grand Finals from October 30 through November 1. The PGS 12 bracket is set by the Circuit 4 PGS Points standings from PGS 10 and PGS 11. The top eight teams in that circuit go directly to the PGS 12 Grand Finals, and the remaining 16 teams go to the October 29 Survival Stage. A weak PGS 10 or PGS 11 can force a team into that elimination day just before the final Grand Finals. The circuit tally that sets those seeds is separate from the full-season PGS Points race, so the two leaderboards do not line up.

GamerLegion benched Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski and named Aleksandr "shalfey" Marenov its new Counter-Strike 2 in-game leader, with a debut set for the RLG Tesla Cup.

GamerLegion has moved its most decorated in-game leader to the bench and handed the Counter-Strike 2 captaincy to a 24-year-old taking his first international job. On October 21, the organization benched Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski and named Aleksandr “shalfey” Marenov as its new IGL, announcing the signing through its official X account.

The active roster keeps four holdovers: Fredrik “REZ” Sterner, Sebastian “Tauson” Tauson Lindelof, Timur “FL4MUS” Marev, and Milan “hypex” Polowiec. Adrian “imd” Pieper stays on as coach. shalfey will get his first competitive minutes at the RLG Tesla Cup, the tournament GamerLegion named in the signing post.

Why the captaincy changed hands

GamerLegion’s farewell to Snax read like a tribute rather than a roster note. “You’ve given us so many moments to remember, from our unforgettable playoff run at BLAST Rivals to reaching the grand final of IEM Atlanta,” the organization wrote when it announced the benching.

That wording points at the real cost of the move. Snax, 33, is one of the defining names of Polish Counter-Strike. He won the PGL Kraków Major in 2017 with Virtus.pro and spent the better part of a decade as the region’s most recognized caller, the player who bridged the CS:GO era into CS2 without losing his spot. His second stint with GamerLegion produced an IEM Atlanta grand final, a result that kept the organization in the conversation among Europe’s second tier. Replacing that voice mid-cycle is not free, and the club said so in its own words.

In-game leaders are also the scarcest resource in the scene. A proven Major-winning caller is a known floor; an untested one is a bet on ceiling. GamerLegion just traded the first for the second, and the timing says it is a deliberate reset rather than a panic move forced by one bad result.

A first international job for shalfey

shalfey arrives from ex-RUSTEC after a longer run as the in-game leader of FORZE, the team he led to the Antwerp and Paris Majors in 2022 and 2023 before a stint with 9 Pandas. The pattern across those rosters is consistent: he has called for Russian-speaking cores for almost his entire career. GamerLegion is his first mixed international lineup, and it puts him in front of the hardest transition a caller can make.

An IGL change rewrites more than one name on the sheet. It changes who calls rotations, who structures the mid-round, and how the team talks under pressure. A caller moving from a same-language core to a mixed-language five has to rebuild that communication layer from nothing. Map callouts, mid-round commands, and the shorthand a team develops over months all reset. No amount of practice scrims settles it; it only sorts itself out in real series, which is exactly why the Tesla Cup matters more than the signing itself.

The roster around the new caller

Keeping REZ, Tauson, FL4MUS, and hypex means the mechanical core stays intact, so the risk is concentrated in the calling layer rather than spread across the map. REZ, the longest-tenured name in the five, has played under multiple callers and gives shalfey a stable anchor in the server. The open question is whether the new IGL’s style, patient and built around map control, fits a lineup whose recent identity leaned on individual firepower.

The change also lands in a CS2 scene that has spent the year reshuffling. Teams like NAVI and Team Spirit both reworked their rosters ahead of the Cologne Major, and the Cologne 2026 sticker overhaul put extra financial weight on Major qualification. A roster move this close to the next cycle reads as a long-term bet, not a reaction to a single week.

The first test

Everything about this signing stays theoretical until shalfey actually calls a live map. The RLG Tesla Cup is that first read, and it will say more about the team’s direction than any announcement can. Watch two things. First, whether the mid-round slows down or speeds up under the new caller; a patient IGL will stretch defaults longer, and that will be visible within the first few rounds. Second, whether the veterans commit to his structure or fall back on the improvisation that carried the old roster through its best stretches.

A few things are still open. GamerLegion has not said what comes next for Snax, who remains on the bench rather than released. The organization has not confirmed a timeline for returning to Major contention, and shalfey’s contract length was not disclosed. What is certain is the swap itself, the four returning starters, and the debut event. Everything beyond that is projection until the new five plays a real series.

GamerLegion has swapped a known quantity for an unproven one and framed the trade honestly. The new five now has a short runway to prove that the ceiling bet was worth taking.

Riot Games has revealed the 32 organizations that will anchor the VALORANT Champions Tour in 2027 and 2028, eight per region, under a new two-year partnership model with revenue sharing and a more open path to qualification.

Riot Games has revealed the 32 partner teams that will anchor the VALORANT Champions Tour through the 2027 and 2028 seasons. The lineup, published October 22 on the official VALORANT Esports site, hands eight partner teams to each of four regions: the Americas, EMEA, Pacific, and China. It arrives alongside a reworked partnership model that ties a team’s continued path to the biggest stages to how it performs on the server.

The reveal is the centerpiece of an overhaul Riot first sketched in April, when it described a more open VCT built around partnership and promotion. This week’s announcement names the teams that made the cut and spells out how they were chosen.

The full roster can be checked against Riot’s partner teams directory, which lists the same 32 names grouped by territory.

How the teams were selected

Riot says more than 100 teams from around the world submitted interest after the process opened earlier this year, each pitching what they could bring to the VCT and the wider VALORANT community. A smaller group of finalists were then interviewed by global and regional esports leads before the final cut. Fewer than a third of the teams that applied got a slot, and the ones that did were vetted well past a results table.

Selection was scored against five criteria:

Commitment to grow the VALORANT community

Community resonance across fandom and content

Business sustainability and responsible operations

Operational excellence and established infrastructure

Competitive success and performance development

Riot wanted teams with a real fanbase and the willingness to build one. The middle two criteria filter for stability, favoring responsible operators with the staffing and facilities to run a professional program year-round. Competitive results come last. Riot’s stated goal was to find teams that bring something unique to the VCT, whether that is a passionate local fanbase, a distinct identity, a history of competitive excellence, or a demonstrated ability to build resonant experiences for the VALORANT community.

A two-year partnership model

The new partnerships run on two-year renewable cycles. In exchange for their slot, partner teams receive annual financial support plus the ability to earn additional revenue through in-game digital goods, including Team and Season Capsules and the Championship bundle, along with incentives tied to how much they help grow VALORANT Esports.

Partner teams get a financial floor to invest against. The incentives point the same way for Riot and the team. A partner that drives viewership and sells more capsules earns more, so both sides win when the scene grows. The two-year horizon lets a team sign players to multi-year deals and staff a program without betting the company on a single bad split.

The in-game items are the engine of that revenue. Team and Season Capsules are org-branded bundles fans buy for the teams they follow, and the Championship bundle is tied to the season’s biggest event. A partner team earns a share of what those items sell, so its income scales with the size of its fanbase on top of tournament winnings.

A more open competitive path

For the start of the 2027 season, partner teams receive direct qualification to VCT Kickoff. After Kickoff, they compete alongside teams emerging from open qualifiers, with competitive performance the only route to Cups, Masters, and Champions.

Riot describes this as the first time its partners will face “an onslaught of new challengers” across a season. For a partner team, that means building a roster that can hold off qualifier squads all season.

Riot says the new structure creates more chances for aspiring teams to qualify directly into the VCT, which reshapes the tier just below the partner class. A squad that can win open qualifiers no longer needs a partner team’s backing to reach Cups, Masters, or Champions.

What it means for the scene

Riot is trying to keep partner teams invested while still giving newcomers a realistic route in. It says plainly that it believes the balance “will create a healthier ecosystem,” with established teams gaining the confidence to invest while a spot at Cups, Masters, and Champions always has to be earned on the server.

Riot confirmed the 32 teams in its official announcement. LOUD, which beat Team Vitality 3-1 to win VALORANT Champions 2026, is among the Americas partners. Global Esports, which recently announced it was leaving VALORANT entirely, is not among the Pacific region’s eight partners.
