Super Mario 3D All-Stars is available for purchase in the United States as of today. While technically not a new game, it attempts to justify its yes-a-new-game price tag of $59.99 by packing in three games’ worth of content. Three absolutely beloved and widely celebrated games, at that.
Those would be Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. That will hopefully be enough because given how this is Nintendo we are talking about here ,Super Mario 3D All-Stars will first ge discounted once it’s re-released on the Switch Virtual Console available on Nintendo Silly Goose Kawaii Fun Machine Z.
Which is probably somewhere along the lines of how the Switch succeessor is going to be called. But we have have 15 years until Nintendo’s done with mid-range smartphone hardware from 2012, so why now spend them playing games from the good old days free of microtransactions and Renaissance awareness?
Why not, indeed, these are all genuinely good games and to be frank, the latest modern 3D Mario, Super Mario Odyssey, was a pretty stellar entry point for the series, as well.
Yeah, can’t be mad at Mario, no matter how many Nintendo decisions Nintendo makes in a given calendar year.
