PopCap Games announced this morning that a new multiplayer mode will be coming to Peggle 2 on Xbox One, entitled ‘Duel Mode’, which players can download absolutely free. Duel Mode will allow players to go head-to-head on the same board, taking turns to shoot pegs and get a high score. PopCap also announced that Peggle 2 will be coming to the Xbox 360 on May 7, so those who felt left out without the next gen console can finally have access to the game. “With all the excitement from our fans in December at launch we knew we wanted to continue growing the Peggle universe starting with more content and then expand onto the Xbox 360,” says a quote from John Vechey, the General Manager at PopCap Games. “By offering the addition of Duel Mode, our fans will be able to challenge their friends continuously to find out who is the ultimate ‘Peggle Master’.”
It’s been confirmed that Duel Mode will come with the Xbox 360 version from the start. Peggle 2 is the official sequel to 2007’s puzzle game hit Peggle, a game that involves shooting balls at multi-colored ‘pegs’ to clear them from the screen, with the use of various abilities and boosts. Peggle 2 was released back in December for the Xbox One as a timed exclusive, expanding upon all of the original’s features and offering new ‘Peggle Masters’ with all-new abilities. Peggle 2 will release for Xbox 360 on May 7 in North America and Europe.
