The months between June and September are shaping up to be a bit of a dry spell for the new generation of consoles. As is common with any budding platform, it takes a decent amount of time before gamers are given a sizable selection of wonderful video games to choose from. For those of you on the hunt for every new game announcement, you may be interested to know that Square Enix’s new title (and new IP, for that matter) Murdered: Soul Suspect will come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on June 3 (June 6 for European gamers).
The game, which is categorized as action-adventure, sees the player assuming control of the ghost of Detective Ronan O’Connor, who must solve the mystery of his own death while battling demonic creatures that try to hinder his progress. While the plot may appear a bit cliche, Square Enix isn’t exactly known to drop the ball on its stories.
Regardless of the gameplay itself, it will be nice to have yet another game added to 2014’s lineup of next-generation games. It is incredibly important to avoid potential gaming droughts this early in its lifespan. One of the primary reasons people do not make the jump to new consoles is that the number and quality of games on the previous generation are far too alluring for them to drop the money on a new piece of hardware.
