Starting today, September 24, 2026, Xbox Insiders can join the Chicken Invaders Collection preview from InterAction studios on Xbox consoles and Windows PC. Announced on Xbox Wire by Xbox Program Manager Tim, the preview brings the entire Chicken Invaders saga together in one collection for the first time since the series debuted in 1999. Anyone who joins can play early, take on the invasion, and help the development team prepare the collection for release.
What is in the collection
The collection puts players on the front line against invading intergalactic chickens bent on revenge against humanity. It features fast-paced arcade shooting action, gigantic boss fights, and an original orchestral soundtrack. Players can save the world alone or team up with up to 8 friends, and whether they are longtime Chicken Invaders fans or defending humanity for the very first time, the preview is open to everyone.
The preview lands during a busy stretch for arcade shooters on Xbox. Metal Slug Ultimate Collection recently brought a long-running arcade series to the platform in a single collection, and the arcade-style action of Vampire Survivors continues to draw players.
How to join the preview
Joining the preview takes four steps. First, sign in on an Xbox console or Windows PC and launch the Xbox Insider Hub app, or install the app from the Store first if it is missing. Next, navigate to Previews and choose Chicken Invaders Collection. Then select Join and wait for the registration to complete. Finally, players are directed to the Store to install the Chicken Invaders Collection Demo, which is what they will play during the preview.
Feedback request
InterAction studios wants direct feedback from preview participants to help prepare the collection for release. Players can complete the Chicken Invaders Collection surveys in the Xbox Insider Hub to share their experience with the team. If something goes wrong while playing on Xbox, they can report it using Report a Problem. Hold the Xbox controller home button, select Report a problem, choose the Games category and the Chicken Invaders Collection Demo subcategory, then fill out the form with the appropriate details.
