Telltale has confirmed that The Wolf Among Us Remastered, an enhanced re-release of its noir narrative adventure The Wolf Among Us, will launch on PlayStation 5 on October 29, and it is available to wishlist now. The announcement came in a PlayStation Blog interview published October 1, 2026, with Matt Saia, game director of The Wolf Among Us Remastered and VP of Creative at Telltale.
Noir Mode and the Engine Upgrade
The remaster honors the Telltale legacy with a respectful update. The team avoided touching the story, the directorial choices, and the art style, which Saia described as sacred. A new Noir Mode plays the story in a pure black-and-white noir film style, and in this mode the shadows feel a little darker. Saia previously added Shadows Mode to Telltale’s Batman series, but Noir Mode keeps Wolf with a pure noir film vibe rather than Batman’s color highlights.
On the technical side, the team moved the game up to the latest engine used in the Batman series, then created new shaders for elements such as shiny bottles and inverted lines on moving objects like the ghost ship. The biggest challenge was lighting, and by the end every scene in the game was relit. Telltale also built the entire Summer Game Fest trailer in engine.
New Character Art and a More Feral Werewolf
According to Saia, every character went through concept, to a high-end model, to a final in-game model. All textures and models are new and multiple times more detailed than the original game. The werewolf was redesigned to be more ferocious, more feral, and more powerful than the original while still staying true to the game.
A Love Letter to Fans
Saia called the remaster a love letter to fans. He said the goal is to introduce new players to The Wolf Among Us in the best way possible while giving returning players updated art and behind-the-scenes features. GamerHeadlines previously covered the original final episode in The Wolf Among Us Finale Review. The franchise’s sequel, The Wolf Among Us 2, was announced for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
