SCS Software confirmed on November 1 that the Coaches DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 releases November 12, 2026, and shared the date in the Coaches announcement on Steam alongside an official video trailer. Coaches adds coach driving and passenger transport to a game built around hauling cargo. Players leave the truck cab for a passenger cabin.
The release lands two days after the Iceland DLC arriving November 10. The Steam listing is app 3809270 in the Simulation genre, developed and published by SCS Software. The store page describes the DLC as trading cargo for passengers and adding scheduled passenger transport across Europe.
Three licensed coaches and their options
Coaches launches with three officially licensed vehicles:
- Scania Touring
- Volvo 9700 DD
- MAN Lion’s Coach
Each coach has its own driving experience, with a range of customization that covers chassis configurations, engine choices, interior trims, and accessories. Players buy their own coach, take passenger transport jobs, and work the roads of ETS2 from a new perspective.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 has long used real truck brands, as in the three DAF XG+ editions in the 1.62 update. Scania, Volvo, and MAN badges extend that same real-brand approach to coaches. Real vehicle names require manufacturer approvals, and SCS Software is using them from the first public release.
Passenger comfort and the G-force indicator
Coaches puts passengers in place of cargo, and the G-force indicator becomes the on-screen measure of their comfort. SCS Software says smooth, careful driving becomes essential with passengers aboard. The G-force indicator shows how smoothly players are driving and whether passengers are comfortable.
Corners, braking, and the G-force indicator all matter in the same Europe map. Harsh inputs can lower passenger satisfaction, while gentle driving protects comfort. Players navigate busy roads, manoeuvre through bus stations, and pick up and drop off passengers along the route. The announcement tells players to balance passenger satisfaction against keeping to the timetable.
The G-force indicator is the only comfort metric named in the announcement, and SCS Software has not specified its thresholds or how satisfaction is scored.
The freight side never scored ride comfort, so truck players could brake hard into every corner. Coach jobs add a comfort score on top of the timetable, and rough driving costs that score.
The three job types
SCS Software frames the three options as a job for every kind of journey. Quick Jobs let players earn money before buying a coach. Contract Jobs use an owned vehicle and add scheduled passenger services with multiple stops and timetables to follow. Tourist Jobs drop the schedule and send passengers on scenic trips to famous landmarks and attractions.
A new player can start in Quick Jobs, build up money, and buy a coach. Contract Jobs then add the strongest pressure, because punctuality and passenger comfort have to balance at once. A driver who corners gently but misses stops still loses satisfaction. Tourist Jobs offer a relaxed alternative for learning the comfort system.
Future updates and open details
SCS Software describes the launch as the start of a new career as a coach driver and plans to keep expanding Coaches after launch. Future updates will add more licensed coach vehicles, new customization options, and additional features.
The price, the first post-launch coach, and a timeline for the additions are still open, and the announcement does not say whether Tourist Jobs require an owned coach. It confirms players will manoeuvre through bus stations on passenger routes and ties Contract Jobs to an owned vehicle, but does not say whether bus stations are new.
Players can add Coaches to their Steam wishlist to be notified when it releases.
