Garena is bringing Free Fire: Daybreak, the anime adaptation of its battle royale mobile game Garena Free Fire, to CCXP26 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. According to the press release, the anime’s first episode will make its world premiere on December 5 at the convention, giving audiences a first look at the series ahead of its global release in Spring 2027.

The screening will be followed by a Free Fire: Daybreak panel featuring members of the anime’s production team and DJ and producer Alok. During the panel, Alok will discuss his special appearance in the first episode and his contribution to the series’ music. After the panel, Alok will take the stage for a live performance.

From December 3 to 6, visitors can experience the worlds of Free Fire and Daybreak through activities at the Free Fire booth, with more to be revealed closer to the event.

CCXP26 premiere details

CCXP26 runs from December 3 to 6 at Sao Paulo Expo, located at Rod. dos Imigrantes, KM 1.5, Sao Paulo, SP. Garena’s release describes CCXP as the world’s biggest pop culture festival, conceived and produced by Omelete Company.

Thiago Romariz, Director of Products at CCXP, said, “Premiering Free Fire: Daybreak at CCXP ahead of its global release would already be a remarkable experience on its own. Doing it with Alok, who besides being a part of the game has contributed to the anime’s soundtrack and will perform at the festival on the same day, takes this convergence of games, anime, and music even further. This is exactly the kind of experience we want to give CCXP audiences.”

Premise, staff, and release date

Free Fire: Daybreak was officially titled on August 1, 2026, and is co-produced through a joint investment by Garena and Kadokawa. The title reveal also unveiled the anime’s key visual and an official promotional trailer. The key visual shows Kelly joined by Hayato and Moco, with a glimpse of Kelly after she awakens her ability.

Ken Takahashi directs the anime. Hotaru Asafuji handles the scripts, and Koji Fujimoto composes the music. Studio Candy Box, credited as Studio CANDYBOX, handles the animation.

In the near-future city of New Dawn, ruled by the powerful Horizon Corporation, 16-year-old Kelly becomes entangled in the experimental “Project Bloom” and awakens “Limit Break,” an extraordinary ability capable of unlocking anything that has been sealed away. As fragments of her past resurface, Kelly joins newfound allies to uncover the conspiracy surrounding Horizon Corporation and confront the forces threatening the future of New Dawn.

The anime is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2027 and will be broadcast and streamed worldwide, including in Japan.

Brazil premiere and Alok’s role

Alok has been a character in Free Fire since 2019, and Garena’s release calls him one of the game’s most popular characters. He is also contributing to the anime’s music.

The episode premiere, the panel, and Alok’s set all happen on December 5, months before the anime streams globally.

From battle royale to cross-media franchise

Free Fire has run for years as a live-service battle royale mobile game without a serialized story. Daybreak gives the franchise its first original anime narrative, with Kelly, Hayato, and Moco in the new setting of New Dawn. Garena’s release calls the series “a new expansion of Garena Free Fire into anime.”

A global release opens the anime to audiences who may never have played the mobile game. Other game franchises are also getting anime adaptations, including Death Stranding: Isolations on Disney+ and the Arknights spin-off Rhodes Academy.
