Following the publication of a German gaming magazine known as Gamestar, another image depicting a brand-new character for Dragon Age: Inquisition has crashed into BioWare’s forums.
Posts following the leaked image brought on the assumption that the character might be a potential companion for Bioware’s upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition release, which enticed yet another wave of rumors and speculation. While BioWare did not share too much information on the supposed elf-mage, they did correct the original poster’s spelling of Solas’ name, which was derived as “Solace.”
Since the Character Kit for Vivienne was unveiled earlier this month on BioWare’s official blog, the developers seem to be planning to show their cards one month at a time. Unlike the character Solas, however; Vivienne is next in line as a confirmed “follower” for Dragon Age: Inquisition. BioWare reassured that we’ll be receiving more information on her this coming week via twitter.
We still have very little to base an assumption on the aspect Solas will play a major role or become temporary follower. At the moment, he’s just sort of “there”– even if the developers at BioWare seem to be dodging inquiries on what position the elf-mage will uphold in the hectic world of Dragon Age: Inquisition. The release of this previously unseen character brought on another heavily discussed fan-based rumor; one that focuses primarily on the Qunari (seen below) who’s appeared in multiple Dragon Age: Inquisition official artwork. Given the alias “Iron Bull” by some devout fans of the Dragon Age series, there’s an ongoing debate of whether or not we’ll be given another Qunari follower for the future installment of action role-playing game.
Since the release of Dragon Age: Origins, Sten has been the sole Qunari companion to date. The lack of potential representation in Dragon Age II was deemed as a major setback, even though the Qunari as antagonists proved to be a compelling perspective to gain further insight on their authoritarian society. The demand is quite clear, however: Dragon Age fans are craving an additional Qunari companion for Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Will we be getting one, though? That has yet to be addressed by the development team at BioWare.
