Gearbox Software President, Randy Pitchford, is in the news again and this time he is talking about the latest Borderlands game; he revealed details about Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, a prequel to Borderlands 2, and the latest from Gearbox Software and 2K Australia.

The first thing he revealed is the size of the game; as many know Borderlands is a huge sandbox game that features tons to explore and collect. And according to an interview with PC Gamer, it appears that the ‘Pre-Sequel’ will be smaller than Borderlands 2 but a little bit bigger than the original Gearbox game: “[though] we’re still getting a grasp on scope. It’s pretty big. I don’t think it’s going to be as big as Borderlands 2. It might be as big, or a little bigger, than Borderlands 1. It might be kind of in between the two.” While this quote seems specific, Pitchford actually sounds quite vague and unsure of his answer; yes, he is certain that the game is smaller than the sequel, but his answer vaguely indicates the scale. But still, if the game manages to be the same size or slightly bigger than the original, fans of the Borderland series will welcome this with open arms.

More importantly, Randy Pitchford discussed the price of the new Borderlands game and though the price has yet to be established, it looks like the price will be proportional to the value of the ‘Pre-Sequel:’ “as far as price point goes, I don’t think that’s set in stone yet. It should be priced correctly, so we’ll have to see what happens in the market and understand the actual total value proposition that’s being offered. But I’m the developer. The guys at 2K will figure that out.” Again, Pitchford’s answer is extremely vague and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel could cost $60, however, his quote (in or out of context) reveals the possibility of a discounted price.

But, as Pitchford indicated, the price is the job of 2K and until further updates we do not know the price or release date: however, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be released on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. And this information is following the Twitter reveal that Gearbox Software was actively developing another game, which will be revealed later this year. For any other updates, please continue to read Gamer Headlines.
