League of Legends patch buffs Rumble, Rengar and Kassadin, updates Twitch

by GH Staff

Today’s League of Legends patch only had a few minor changes. Riot didn’t want to upset the game too much before the 2014 All-Star tournament in Paris next month. However, there are a few changes to some once-great champions that could make a difference in your champion selection:

 Rumble

  • The danger zone shield and movement speed bonuses on his W have been doubled to 50%
  • The danger zone damage and slow bonuses on his R have been doubled to 50%

Rengar

  • Increased the animation speed and damage of his Q
  • Opposing champions will now only get a stealth alert if Rengar is in normal vision range

Kassadin

  • Increased his movement speed by 10 and his mana per level by 25
  • The base value and AP ratio of the shield generated from his Q was increased
  • His Q will now interrupt Anivia, Twisted Fate and Urgot’s ultimates
  • The base damage and ratio on his W have been increased

Gragas

  • His W no longer has a self-slow
  • The cooldown of his e is now 12 seconds at all levels

Some bugs were also fixed in Aatrox and Maokai. I could see the Rengar changes being pretty big. People love Rengar and an outright damage buff to his main skill could help him break into the top lane again. Riot is trying to diversify the champions picked in the top lane with a series of buffs to champions like Rengar and Rumble. Riot plans to buff Malphite and Jarvan IV in upcoming patches to further help with this problem. Twitch also received a visual upgrade, including new ability icons and ability names. He looks– awful. Here is the League of Legends lore page on the update. The price of Wriggle’s Lantern was increased by 150 gold, and the number of kills required to upgrade it to Feral Flare was increased by five. Feral Flare is an insanely good item, so Riot is trying to balance it out a bit. Heal’s old debuff was finally reinstated. The second heal will only be for 50%. This should help against the ridiculous duo-heal bottom lane combinations. All in all, a pretty lukewarm patch. The Heal debuff was probably the most important part of it, as the skill was broken in the last patch. Source: leagueoflegends.com
