New League of Legends gameplay with Braum, the new tanky support, revealed

by GH Staff

Several days ago, Riot Games revealed concrete information about Braum, the upcoming champion to be added to League of Legends’ already vast roster. We’ve seen that he is a hybrid tank and support, and will act as a meat-shield on more than one occasion. His entire skill-set is based around this notion. Since we have footage included, I won’t bother explaining his abilities in detail, but it’s enough to know that he has the biggest magical shield in League of Legends. Oh, and he also has the manliest mustache too. Sorry Draven.

Let’s get things straight. Braum’s damage output is rather bad, and his scaling towards that end is equally bad. He’s not an aggressive champion, and considering there are plenty of those in League of Legends, that’s a good thing. He’s more like a manly version of Leona, an ultimate defensive support, that not only has the potential of protecting his carry throughout the laning phase, but can also make a huge impact on fights as the game progresses.

Braum is currently only available on the test servers, and cannot be accessed. He’s likely to be released at the beginning of May though, so if you’re itching for some much-needed bottom-lane diversity, you don’t have that long to wait. Speaking about diversity, it’s nice to see Riot finally release a real, pure support champion, it’s been awhile since we’ve had one in League of Legends. Although many champions are still available to fill the role, few of them are actually used competitively and frequently, so it will be interesting to see if Braum will fit in with the current meta. If you’re curious about how Braum’s skin looks like, take a look at the video below. Are you planning on picking Braum up once he’s released?
