The entire internet has been going up and down about Fallout 4’s announcement next month at E3. The entire premise took off after a potential document leaked from Bethesda’s internal studio. The document in question reveals the company’s plans about future Elder Scrolls titles and Fallout 4. However, this document proved to be fake, as the signing person doesn’t seem to exist, at least not within Bethesda’s ranks. This hasn’t stopped people from speculating (more like hoping) about a potential E3 announcement for Fallout 4.
Bethesda’s Pete Hines finally took matters into his own hands, and clarified, stating clearly that Bethesda will NOT be announcing any major game at E3 this year or in the immediate future. The announcement came via a Twitter post, and essentially shut down all sorts of speculation (or tried to, anyway):
@iTz_Reaper 1) I don't reallly pre-announce our announcements. 2) BGS will not be talking about its next game for a long time.

Whether you have been waiting for Fallout 4 or a potential single-player Elder Scrolls game (don’t hold your breath for the latter), it seems you’re up for a long wait. On the bright side, we’re almost certain that Fallout 4 is in the making, and Bethesda has been confirmed to be secretly working on something big. What exactly it is working on remains unknown, and will likely remain unknown way beyond E3 2014, but at least we have something to look forward to. For now however, there’s no sign of Fallout 4, a post-apocalyptic Boston or an Elder Scrolls VI.
