Microsoft has announced players will be able to gain guaranteed access to the Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta through the recently announced; Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which is to hit shelves November 11. The beta will open its virtual doors in December, however no specific date was mentioned.
The Master Chief Collection is to contain all of the main Halo titles in the series, including Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, and finally Halo 4. All of the original maps will be included alongside their respective games as well as all of the bugs and glitches, more notably the “BXR” and “Double Shot” from Halo 2 which many players took advantage of back in the day. All of the games will run at 1080p resolution whilst maintaining 60 frames per second.
The live-action series; Halo: Nightfall will also be part of the impressive bundle as a digital release. Although not much is known about Nightfall, it’s been speculated new characters from Halo 5: Guardians will be the primary focus. Halo 5: Guardians is to continue Master Chief’s narrative revolving around the Reclaimer Saga, which began in Halo 4 and is to seemingly finish at the end of Halo 6.
Not much is actually known of the storyline specifically, however the teaser from E3 reveals there will be new spartan abilities within the multiplayer, which are more than likely to be available in the campaign also.
