In the next couple of months the next installment of the Borderlands franchise will hit the shelves mid October this year, it will be set in between the first and second games. There are some things we’d like to see in the game, and some we won’t.
What we want!
- Claptrap! – Although he has already been confirmed a fully playable character as the Fragtrap with his own skill tree, there has yet to be confirmation if a claptrap will have as big of a roll in the game as the previous games did other than just being playable.
- Raid Bosses! – Raid bosses we’re a fun and challenging way to get good gear when you’re at end game making the game longevity just that little bit longer as players grinded for the better loot. These bosses also brought the community together as they shared and discussed the best strategies and equipment for defeating them.
- Weapon Proficiency’s – Weapon proficiency’s were in the original Borderlands and were later removed in the second to make way for the new badass ranks, personally I preferred weapon proficiency’s as they were easier to get, simply by using a specific type of weapon rather than having to do various random challenges, the weapon proficiency’s were also character specific rather than the system of the same benefits for all characters which had its drawbacks, as you would like to assign them differently for each character to fit with their skill tree.
- Improved Side quests – Throughout my play through of the games, I always found myself wanting to complete all of the the side-quests which is entirely possible, but in your first play through of the game you quickly out-level them and they become “trivial”, no matter how good the plot to the side quest is, it can become tedious to have to complete them all when you can one-shot the enemies who are supposed to be a threat, it would be nice to have all side quests level to your appropriate level, to keep them interesting throughout the game.
- Customization! – In Borderlands 2 character customization did take a step forward from just being able to choose some colors to being able to acquire face customization through “heads” and a variety of patterns for the rest of the body, it would be nice to have a lot more freedom, for the characters themselves different hair, pants, tops, gloves and so on, it could be expanded into the vehicles different wheels, spoilers, engines etc etc each with different and unique properties making each players character more unique!
There’s still things to be revealed, fingers crossed we get some of these!
