Holiday Server Issues: Nintendo Online Service Crashes

by GH Staff

Yesterday, with the release of the Left 4 Dead 2 free gift from Valve the Steam servers were constantly crashing and going down; however, the issue has been fixed. Today, to continue the holiday festive spirit of server problems the online services of all Nintendo consoles are experiencing major stability issues.

The reason for the servers’ technical difficulties is unknown. Rumors suggest that too many people that received a new Nintendo console for Christmas is the cause of the crashes. However, having in mind that they are struggling with sales this seems highly unlikely. Nintendo of America apologized for the server condition via twitter, but did not mention anything about the cause of the problems. People, who are experiencing issues with the Nintendo online service, can check its status here.

Is there an evil Christmas Grinch that is cutting the cables of the servers owned by major game and console developers? Or is the Christmas of 2013 full of customers wanting to get the best deals in time and registers their new consoles?

The answer is unknown, but we here at GamerHeadlines are wondering – Who will be next?
