Robin Williams – A Petition to Get Him into Zelda Wii U

I’m sure we’ve all been made aware to the unfortunate events that befell Robin Williams this past week. Williams was an extremely talented man, and he will be sorely missed, both in the entertainment world, and the gaming world he made himself a part of.

In light of his untimely death, a petition to get Robin Williams into the upcoming Zelda Wii U game has been created and signed by, at the time of this writing, more than 50,000 people.

Please consider naming an NPC in the new Legend of Zelda game after Robin Williams. It was a series he loved, and it’s a small tribute to a great man.

Robin Williams was always a huge fan of the Legend of Zelda games, even going so far as to name his daughter after Nintendo’s long-running franchise.

Robin Williams even did a promotion with his aptly-named daughter for the LoZ: Skyward Sword, which I’ve linked below.

Frankly, I can’t see a better way to honor a truly talented man whose heart always had a soft spot for Link’s crazy adventures. Judging by the reasons for signing some people left, it seems I’m not the only one, either.

I normally don’t get that upset when a celebrity dies, but Robin Williams was a huge part of my childhood, as I’m sure many of you can agree with. When I heard he had died, and by suicide no less, I felt like a part of me was lost along with him.

I feel that it would be fitting that his love for the series be immortalized in one of the games through an NPC in the upcoming Zelda title for the WiiU. I imagine it’s something he would have liked…”
