We all know that tablets have stormed the tech market recently and often at times it can be hard to keep up with the constant advance in technology – how can we be so sure that we are getting the best tablet for our needs?
Samsung is without a doubt one of the leaders in phones, tablets, televisions, and many more technology equipment. So throughout this article we’ll be doing a review of two very popular tablets recently released by Samsung.
Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2
The Note Pro 12.2 was released back in early February of 2014. It is a large tablet comprising of a 12.2 inch screen display and this can be further enhanced with the ability to use ‘Multi Window’ mode which allows the user up to four split-screens. It’s safe to say that display is definitely a huge benefit to this tablet, but does it also stand up in terms of performance?
Specifications – The specifications on the Note Pro 12.2 are actually very impressive. You will find a Krait 400 quad core (2300 MHz) processor along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of built in storage.
Design – The design is truly one of the best things about this tablet, as mentioned earlier it has a large screen display but also benefits from a very sleek appearance.
Camera – You will be able to use both a front-facing and a standing rear-facing camera. The front-facing camera is only 2-megapixels but the rear-facing camera benefits from 8-megapixels.
Battery – The battery has quite a long duration and has a capacity of 9500 mAh but unfortunately it is not user replaceable.
OS – The OS that the tablet had when it was released was Android 4.4, this is a good OS but of course you have the option to upgrade.
Price – You can generally find the tablet priced from $500 – $600 depending on where you are shopping.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5
The Tab S 10.5 is a huge competitor to the previously mentioned tablet and although it’s not as large, it does have many of its own benefits and outshines the previous tablet in many different areas.
Specifications – Power is where this tablet shines, you will benefit from an 8 core, 1900 MHz ARM Cortex-A15 and an ARM Cortex A-7. It also has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built in storage.
Design – Even though this tablet is slightly smaller than the Note, it still holds a very sleek design and is a decent 10.5 inches.
Camera – Again you will be able to benefit from both a rear-facing and a front-facing camera, with 8-megapixels and 2.1-megapixels respectively.
Battery – Fortunately the battery on this model is user replaceable but has a slightly lower capacity at 7900 mAh.
OS – The OS on this model is the Android 4.4.2, a slight step-up from the previous model but you can also upgrade when the time comes.
Price – Since this model is much newer than the one previously mentioned we can expect it to have a high price tag for now at least, you can find this tablet for around $450 – $550.
Conclusion
In conclusion, both tablets have their own respective pros and cons and some are more distinct than others. If you are looking for a large display and a long battery life then it goes without saying that the Note Pro 12.2 should be your first choice. However, if you are looking for a more sleek design and a more recent model then you might want to go ahead and purchase the Tab S 10.5.
