Rockstar Games posted on their website today that there will be a new update coming to Grand Theft Auto Online. This update will be called the San Andreas Flight School and will include many goodies for Grand Theft Auto’s planes and vehicles.
The trailer starts up with JT Boyd, a retired marine that specializes in re-enactments and aerial performance coaching. He goes on to explain how little effort you need to exert in order to learn how to fly planes paid for by American tax dollars. You’re asked as a player to come up with new kinds of tricks and put some “life” back into your “mid-life crisis”. If it’s Grand Theft Auto, it’s going to be hilarious and kick ass, which is exactly what this update will be.
In Grand Theft Auto Online’s trailer, we’re introduced to a different type of fighter pilot as well as more helicopter models to fly around in. New parachute bags with international flags will be added as well. The flags represented in the trailer are Jamaica, France, Canada, UK, Spain, USA, Brazil, Great Britain, Germany and Scotland, but more could be added. Also included will be more updates to the Grand Theft Auto Online gameplay in general. These will include increased payouts for harder to complete missions in the game and bonuses for completing missions with friends. Of course, we will receive more details tomorrow.
What does this mean for Grand Theft Auto Online? Well, it’s simple. We’re going to receive more access to the airports. At least that’s what the trailer looks like. No longer will we be stuck trying to break in and take these planes. We’ll get the flight school to either license or approve these transactions. That’s the main part of the update. Hopefully we will now be able to fly planes a little easier and potentially perform more tricks and stunts. Another thing that can come is additional challenges that are included with parachuting/using helicopters. Of course there will be new races that people can complete. Races are a small part of the big update. If we can get easier access to places, I wonder where the other challenges will be placed in Grand Theft Auto Online.
Grand Theft Auto V was released on September 17th, 2013 and will be coming up for release on PC and next-gen consoles towards the end of 2014.
