Times have changed from desktops to laptops and now smartphones to phablets. We are going to discuss about two of the amazing phablets smartphone manufacturers have to offer.
LG G Vista
LG G Vista is a dual sim phone launched in the second quarter of year 2014.
Design and Display
The front panel houses a 5.7 inch IPS LCD screen of 720*1280 pixel resolution and 258 ppi pixel density. The build is good and feels like a premium phone. The display is very good with good color reproduction and contrast. The images and pictures look crisp and the display makes it ideal for browsing, watching videos and reading e-books
Specifications, Camera and Battery
It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal memory. It supports micro SD card up to 32GB. LG Vista comes preloaded with latest android 4.4.2 LG’s own customized KitKat operating system. The overall performance is good and we did not notice any lag when opening or closing or even switching between applications. It is fitted with 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1.3 MP front camera for video calling. It has a 3200 mAh battery which gives a fairly good backup.
Lenovo S860
Packed with a quad processor and 2GB RAM, it is the successor to Lenovo S660.
Design and Display
With 10.3mm in thickness and 190g in weight, this phone is not an option for people who are looking for slim and light smartphones. The power button and volume rocker is on the right edge, headset jack is on the top and Micro USB on the bottom. The screen measures 5.3 inches with 720*1280 pixel resolution and 277 ppi. The screen is not very good, considering it to be a phablet and its main purpose is for browsing internet, watching videos and reading texts.

Lenovo S860 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. There is no option for micro SD slot. 2GB boosts the performance of the phone in a way that we did not feel any lag in playing high-end games, switching between applications and high definition videos. It comes preloaded with 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system which is upgradable to 4.4.2. It is fitted with 8MP rear camera with outstanding close up shots clicked in the right lighting conditions. The low light shots gave a mixed feeling where some shots were detailed whereas the others were noisy. It is powered by a 4000 mAh battery which gives a whole day’s battery life with mixed usage.
Overall
After running extensive tests on the phablets, we found Lenovo S860 with amazing performance, camera quality and display as compared to LG G Vista.
