With quad core processor and decent RAM, both the phones support Dual SIM which has become one of the major priorities for smartphone buyers.
Sony Xperia C
It is currently one of the most selling smartphone in the mid-level segment.
Design and Display
Sony Xperia C front panel houses a 5-inch display (No Bravia Engine) of 540*960 pixel resolution and 220 ppi pixel density. The rear panel is made of soft touch plastic material and is removable giving access to Dual SIM and micro SD slots. The power button, volume rocker and camera button are on the right edge of the phone. The screen is pretty decent (not very good as compared to other competitors in the same range). The high resolution images are not very sharp and the viewing angles are not very great which indicates that the manufacture had to compromise on display quality to sell it as a budget phone.
Specifications, Camera and Battery
Sony Xperia C is powered by a quad core 1.2 GHz MediaTek processor with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It comes with android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. There is no lag while opening or switching between the applications but gets stuck when pausing high end games like Shadow Gun. The processor is good but 1GB RAM makes it incapable of giving optimal performance. It is fitted with 8MP rear camera with LED flash and VGA front camera for video calling. Camera Picture quality is very average with slow shutter speed. The 2390 mAh battery gives a decent 15-16 hours of battery life with mixed usage.
Samsung Galaxy Grand 2
Launched as the successor to Galaxy Grand, Grand 2 has various improvements in terms of its processor and build quality.
Design and Display
In terms of design, the Grand 2 is similar to Grand except for the fact that it has new faux leather textured rear panel which was first introduced in Note 3. The front panel houses a 5.25 inch TFT screen with 720*1280 pixel resolution and 280 ppi pixel density. The screen looks better when compared with Xperia C with better resolution and ppi.

It is powered by the 1.2 GHz quad core processor with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. It runs on 4.3 android along with Samsung’s Touch Wiz UI which is again similar to other Galaxy smartphones. The performance of the phone is good, thanks to 1.5GB RAM to support the quad core processor. It is fitted with 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1.9MP front camera to support video calling. It has a 2600 mAh battery which gives about 20 hours of battery life with mixed usage.
Overall
We tested both the phones and found Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 much better in comparison to Sony Xperia C as it offers an overall better package.
