Nintendo has revealed the list of new downloadable titles across its eShop for the week of August 28, 2014.
On the 3DS eShop:
- Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney ($34,99)
Launching on August 29, this crossover adventure blends-in the world of Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright as they solve puzzles and examine multiple witnesses. They are both different characters in terms of their approach to cases, so expect a lot of variety regarding this aspect.
- Azure Striker GUNVOLT ($14,99)
Coming from Inti Creates and featuring the talent of Keiji Inafune himself, the creator of the Mega Man franchise, Azure Striker GUNVOLT is a 2D side-scrolling action game heavily inspired the 16-bit era of gaming. Additionally, if you purchase Azure Stiker GUNVOLT before November 28, you’ll receive a free digital copy of Mighty GUNVOLT, a similar game with an 8-bit style to it this time around. You can get Azure Striker GUNVOLT on the 3DS eShop starting August 29.
- Thorium Wars: Attack of the Skyfighter ($7,99)
Thorium Wars is a 3D aerial shooter that has you protecting Earth from aliens. While on board one of three selected Skyfighters, you’ll have to destroy the Thorion forces armed with mechs and drones to save the human colonies.
- Outback Pet Rescue 3D ($TBD)
Participate in an exciting 3D adventure in Australia where you take care of all sorts of exotic animals. Multiple tasks are waiting for you in the Outback.
On the Wii U Virtual Console:
- Mega Man X3 ($7,99)
Every Thurday in August, Nintendo has brought us a Mega Man game, and it looks like Mega Man X3 will be the last one we’ll get for a little while. This 2D action platformer puts you in the shoes of Mega Man X and his partner, Zero, as they must find a cure to put the Mavericks and Reploids at peace with each other.
- Donkey Kong Jr. Math ($4,99)
Play the original Donkey Kong Jr. experience, only this time it is an entertaining educational math experience. Test your addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills by directing Jr. on the vines to solve the math problems.
On the Wii U eShop:
- SteamWorld Dig ($8,99)
Having had a great reception from critics when it debuted on 3DS last year, SteamWorld Dig is finally making its way to the Wii U console for the first time. This Metroidvania platforming experience puts you in the shoes of Rusty, a lone mining steamboat, as he tries to gains as much treasure as possible.
- The Fall ($9,99)
Playing as ARID, an A.I. on-board a high-tech combat suit amidst an alien world, The Fall is a side-scrolling action-adventure game with puzzle solving elements. Go through a disturbing and engrossing journey expanding ARID’s world despite her protocols.
And finally, eShop sales:
- Super Little Acorns 3D Turbo (3DS)
This title is 50 percent off from September 3 to September 24. It will cost $3,95 instead of $7,99.
- Soccer Up 3D (3DS)
This game is 71 percent off until September 17. It will cost $1,99 instead of $6,99.
- Splinter Cell: Blacklist (Wii U)
This game will now be $19,99 instead of $39,99 starting September 1.
Also, take note that Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight will come out on September 1 on the Wii U Virtual Console and Nobunaga’s Ambition will come out on it on the 3rd.
