There was no game play shown for this upcoming release, but there will be a new hot shots golf coming to the PS4.
In North America, its Hot Shots Golf, but the rest of the world is Everybody’s Golf. It’s interesting simply because the title gives a whole new connotation to the game. If it is everybody’s golf, it’s got more of a casual feel to the game. If it’s Hot Shots Golf, this targets the champions and all-stars of the game.
Eurogamer picked up this gem in the pre-TGS (Tokyo Game Show). From those were present, there were multiple highly detailed courses displayed in the background. The aim for this Hot Shots Golf is to appeal to an open world environment and play to the strengths that the PS4 carries. Worldwide Studios may be onto something big here if there’s going to be open world golf. There has been MMO’s such as Shot Online and Pangya, but to see it transfer over to consoles is the next big step. Considering we’re seeing The Golf Club being released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC with an online multiplayer championship league, the new Hot Shots Golf could be a contender.
The important thing to take into account is that open world environment. We’re seeing MMO’s and MOBA’s transferring over to consoles such as Diablo 3, Elder Scrolls Online, and Smite. These games would normally be known for their PC releases, but have been released on console to appeal to a greater audience. Although it could be awhile for these games to fully make the transition, this will make a huge change to console gaming.
The first Everybody’s Golf or Hot Shots Golf was released back in 1997 on the Playstation and since then has had multiple sequels. Recently the PS Vita received a Hot Shots Golf game, Hot Shots Golf World Invitational. We’ll have to see what happens in the upcoming months prior to this game’s release.
