Sakurai has posted more exciting Super Smash Bros news to the Miiverse this morning. Each and every character in the new titles will receive a total of eight color schemes. This is a significant increase, giving players a little more options to really make themselves stand out on the battlefield.
In the post, Sakurai shows off the different suits for Samus including her Veria Suit, Fusion Suit and Gravity Suit from Super Metriod, Gravity Suit, Light Suit and Dark Suit from Metroid Prime, Green Samus and Dark Samus. Also shown were the final four Villager schemes which are two new boy models and two new girl models giving players the option of four boys and four girls to choose from though some are definitely not as cute as others. I’m looking at you two tired eyed Villagers. They’re either just sleepy or stoned and I don’t approve of either. Get your act together you two.
What I do approve of however is the fact that Pikachu will most likely be getting more adorable hats to parade around the battlefield in. Either that or Nintendo will be clever and include the different Cosplay Pikachus they’ve announced for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Either way I’ll be happy.
An interesting detail is that all the images for the new color schemes and costumes come from the Wii U version of Smash. Hopefully this doesn’t mean that the 3DS version will be shafted in this department. I personally don’t see why that would happen, but Nintendo has definitely done some stranger things in the past. Fingers crossed.
