Final Fantasy XV’s director, Tetsuya Nomura, has stepped down from the project.
After working on the game for almost a decade, Tetsua Nomura, according to an announcement from Square Enix, is leaving his position as director in order to turn his attention to other works-in-progress.
“Hereafter, [Tetsuya Nomura] will be focusing his efforts on the production of titles that can only be made possible by Nomura, himself, and delivering products that exceed the quality of past titles, starting with another one of his representative projects, Kingdom Hearts III. Square Enix will continue to work on these titles with the best staff formation in an effort to deliver them to everyone as soon as possible and appreciates your continued support,” -Yosuke Matsuda
While it may sadden some fans of the series to see Nomura step away from the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy XV, you may be delighted to know that Kingdom Hearts III will be the new center of his attention. I guess what they (whoever “they” are) say is true- when one door closes, Mickey Mouse unlocks another one with his keyblade and slams the first door closed.
