Xbox Fitness might be coming to other platforms, according to lifestyle entertainment GM at Microsoft, Dave McCarthy.
In a recent interview with Polygon, McCarthy stated that the company is looking to bring Xbox Fitness functionality to other devices, including mobile, tablets and the PC. Although it is uncertain the extent to which the game will be available outside of the Xbox One platform, ideas of applications and availability to other devices are currently being discussed by Microsoft officials.
McCarthy said that although he isn’t aware of the ‘specific form it will take,’ they are ‘definitely looking at phones, looking at tablets,’ and at PCs and trying to figure out how they can ‘provide a consistent user experience’ for all of their devices.
Xbox Fitness launched in November, 2013 for the Xbox One and since its release users have performed over 1.5 million workouts via the entertainment platform. Microsoft is also working on new content for the game in collaboration with fitness guru Tracy Anderson.
