As of late, Ubisoft claims to be trying to do right by their PC gaming-inclined customers. Most recently, they have been implementing exclusive NVIDIA graphical technologies into their AAA releases.

In this particular case – Assassin’s Creed Unity will receive a number of the aforementioned NVIDIA exclusive graphical effects for the PC iteration of the latest highly anticipated entry into the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Coinciding with NVIDIA’s Geforce GTX 900 series recent release, VideoCardz.com inadvertently leaked a handful of images pertaining to the PC exclusive effects for Assassin’s Creed Unity.

According to the leak, Assassin’s Creed Unity will support the following NVIDIA technologies:

  • TXAA
  • HBAO+
  • PCSS
  • Tessellation

Due to the inherent nature of a leak, the above information may or may not be accurate (i.e. more or less graphical effects may be supported by the game), however the screens below seem to provide a stable foundation.

Read more details and see a sampling of the leaked screenshots after the break.

TXAA anti-aliasing creates a smoother, clearer image than any other anti-aliasing solution by combining high-quality MSAA multisample anti-aliasing, post processes, and NVIDIA-designed temporal filters.

HBAO+ is the ambient occlusion option of choice. Its image quality exceeds that of any other technique, it’s the most-efficient full-resolution AO option, the first to use cache-efficient Interleaved Rendering technology, and the first to virtually eliminate flickering and under-sampling artifacts. Best of all, HBAO+ won’t have a noticeable impact on your frame rate when rendering all of its excellent AO shadowing at an exceptional level of detail.

Percentage Closer Soft Shadows (PCSS) generates perceptually accurate soft shadows based on shadow mapping and percentage‐closer filtering.

Tessellation is a revolutionary addition that has a comparatively small performance impact whilst adding significant depth and detail that simply can’t be achieved with traditional techniques. Flat cobbled streets gain true depth, character’s faces are rounder and more realistic, and environments appear more organic and natural.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is releasing on November 11th (NA) and November 13th (EU). The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

However, gamers desiring to take full advantage of NVIDIA’s graphical technologies should probably opt for the PC version (provided they have the proper hardware).

With that said, are you excited for Assassin’s Creed Unity? If so, which version will you be getting and why? What do you think of “PC exclusive” effects from NVIDIA?
