While being interviewed by X-One magazine, actor Mike Colter who plays Agent Locke in the upcoming Halo: Nightfall series has revealed that he is a playable character in Halo 5: Guardians.
Specifically, Colter said “I’m a playable character in Halo 5” and then followed up with greater detail:
“Once Halo: The Master Chief Collection is released, and then Halo 5 comes out shortly thereafter, you’re basically going to be playing a game with me as the primary character.”
VG247 seems to think that players will be controlling both Agent Locke and Master Chief – similar to the switching back and forth between the Arbiter and Master Chief in Halo 2. This is somewhat backed up by Colter’s description of the way the two characters interact:
“What’s not known, is whether I’m a friend or a foe. The relationship between Master Chief and Jameson Locke is going to be interesting…because what’s the outcome? Is he dead or alive? Because that’s usually what a manhunt comes down to, dead or alive, but you won’t know what the purpose of finding Master Chief is [right away].
“Or what will happen if we do find him, what condition he will be in, and where he’s at mentally. But I’m sure that will be a plot twist in Halo 5.”
While this interview does seem to confirm that players will be controlling Agent Locke at some point in the upcoming Xbox One exclusive, players will be able to find out the truth in all of this when Halo 5: Guardians releases next year for Xbox One.
In the meantime, fans of Halo will be able to learn more about Agent Locke in the upcoming Halo: Nightfall series, which will being airing on the Halo channel on November 11th for Xbox One and PC.
