SHGames Michael Condrey has revealed that SHGames are replacing the Dead Silence perk with the Exo Mute ability

Charlie Intel.net has revealed that Sledgehammer Games Michael Condrey announced on their Google Plus hangout that for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, they will be replacing the old Dead Silence perk with the Exo Mute ability. The Dead Silence perk has been in every game till now and it made the player almost completely quiet.

Dead Silence finally gets balanced with the Exo Mute ability.

It has now been replaced with the Exo Mute ability which will do the same thing as Dead Silence, but for only a limited time. According to a Tweet by Michael Condrey, Exo Mute will only last for 20 seconds although it can be increased to 30 seconds with the Overcharged perk. The tweet ends with “Enhances strategy and balance” as these abilities will take up a point in the games Pick 13 System, which is an updated version of Black Ops 2’s Pick 10 system.

The reason for this is because Exo abilities all run on batteries and you’ll be able to track the amount of power in the battery on the HUD in the bottom left hand corner. You will be able to turn the Exo abilities on and off as long as you have battery power but once the battery is drained, it will stay drained till you die. Condrey has stated however that depending on feedback for the ability, Sledgehammer Games may change the ability post launch.
