Microsoft’s next major software release will be called the Windows 10 following the launch of Windows 8 in 2012 which then ushered in the biggest changes in the history of the company. The biggest disadvantage of the old OS is that it didn’t have a start menu which the new one is said to try to make improvements on. There have been images and screenshots all over the internet about the new software which we’ll try to dig more into.

How Windows 10 Will Look Like

WinFuture and ComputerBase received some photos that are tech previews of the Windows 10 which is expected to be unveiled this month and released early 2015. The way the screenshots look, it seems like the upcoming software of Windows will have a new search button which can be found on the right side of the start button.

What You Need to Know About Windows 9The Technical Preview is the company’s way of providing the people with a first glimpse of the new OS which will be available for download by Microsoft for testing purposes. Several versions of the software are expected to be released, those that on the page some information regarding how to download the 32 bit and the 64 bit versions.

User Interface of Upcoming OS

The user interface of Windows 8 will be adapted by the upcoming OS like the applications that will go floating on the desktop screen with search, change settings, play or share options. The metro style look of Windows 10 will also have with it new icons like File Explorer and Desktop with the UI to come flatter. Its notification center will be accessed already from the system tray in the upcoming OS. The taskbar’s UI is done by Microsoft in concordance with The Verge in order to provide its users with an easy access to the menu just by right clicking on it.

Features to Expect

Among those features that the users can expect from the new software are the mini Start Menu, notifications, metro style applications and virtual desktops. While many people are saying that the ‘charms bar’ available in Windows 8 will no longer be included in the new software, some leaked screenshots suggest that the feature will be added eventually.

The final form of the upcoming Windows 10 is expected to be launched in 2015 but there is a different preview that Microsoft will make available for tablets and smartphones for the new software either in January or February. Stay tuned for more updates about this new program!
