UI and Functionality Comparison: Lumia 900 vs Nokia Lumia 1020

Nokia has been off of the smartphone market for quite some time but now that this Finnish company has been bought out by Microsoft, it has made a huge comeback with one of its flagships Nokia Lumia 1020. This phone is known as the king of the camera-centric devices of the company but there’s Nokia Lumia 900 too, its sibling. If you need help understanding the differences between these two models, we’ll try to look at their interface and functionality then determine what you should buy.

Nokia Lumia 900 Interface and Functionality

The Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone runs on the Windows 7.5 Mango OS which gives the device a lot of character and personality with its overall look. While the operating system of Nokia phones is does not offer depth of personalization like Android, what users can expect from the Windows Phone OS is adequate fire power to keep them engaged in their handsets.

When talking about the functionality section, the Lumia 900 has the same experience to offer just like its siblings with the standard mix of plain features. The massive display of this phone for typing messages is not different with Nokia Lumia 1020 which includes auto-correct and predictive text features.

Its home screen still has that basic look like the other handsets running on Windows Phone OS but it comes preloaded with Live Tiles offering significant information to its user.

What’s great about the Windows 8 operating system is that it is simple and the customization options are limited to only repositioning the home screen tiles. As for typing messages on the massive display of the Nokia Lumia 1020, it sure is fun but its protruding camera on the rear of the phone might be quite disturbing. Of course, if you’re already used to it, you’ll be able to type without mistakes.

Both the Nokia Lumia 900 and Nokia Lumia 1020 are high-end offerings of the Finnish company that cannot be taken too lightly by the smartphone giants of today as far as interface and functionality are concerned. Competition might be tough for Nokia but with its great phones released in the market, it should be able to live up the expectation of the smartphone users.
