GTA - San Andreas Steam Update Coming

Courtesy of JehutyRunner on NeoGAF, it seems that not only have achievements for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas appeared on Xbox 360, the classic version of the game has been removed from the Xbox Live Marketplace and the Playstation Network in both NA and Europe, and some “recent updates to the Steam registry” point to a potential release on PC as well.

While Rockstar has not made any official announcement regarding a remastered version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, next week marks the game’s tenth anniversary, further fuelling speculation that we might have a remastered version of the game coming soon.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a fan favourite, garnering spectacular reviews with critics praising the vibrancy and complexity of the world and its story:

Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas… a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption. Where filmstars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gangbangers.

Now, it’s the early 90s. Carl’s got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.

On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets.
