Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo vs Samsung Galaxy Grand Neo 2

Samsung has provided a very appealing and accessible line of smartphones starting with the Galaxy Grand, in which is a crowd hit. The line, however, is comprised of numerous devices, and it’s easy to be confused about the difference in the Galaxy Grand Neo, and the Galaxy Grand 2. So for this article, we decided to compare the two devices to see which one comes out on top.

Layout

Measuring 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm, the Galaxy Grand 2 is much slimmer than its counterpart that is thicker to the tune of 9.6 mm. The Grand Neo, on the other hand, weighs 2,163 gram and measures 143.7 x 77.1 mm.

Screen

The Galaxy Grand Neo is comprised of a TFT 5 inch display and has 480 x 800 resolution. While the Galaxy Grand 2 also has a TFT 5 inch display, with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

Hardware

So lets look at what powers these devices. According to GSM Arena, the Grand Neo runs on a quad-core Cortex-A7 processor, which clocks at 1.2GHz, and is coupled with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400. The Galaxy Grand 2 has the same processor and speed. However, the Grand Neo has provided a version on 16GB but also offers, like the Grand Neo an 8GB internal memory storage. You are able to expand up to 64GB for each device, for more memory. The Grand 2 runs on 1.5GB of RAM while the Grand Neo only provides a RAM capacity of 1GB.

Camera

The 8MP rear camera is found on the Galaxy Grand 2 and offers a front facing camera of 1.9MP. While a 5MP rear facing camera is found on the Grand Neo, and only has a VGA-quality front lens.

Battery

Each device is powered by a good battery, with the Grand 2 having a 2600mAH battery, and the Grand Neo has a 2100mAh battery. The Grand 2 provides up to 17 hours of talk time, and up to 11 hours is available on the Grand Neo.

You are able to find both devices on Amazon, with the Grand 2 offered for $260, and the Grand Neo found for $195.
