Hurry up and take advantage of the Shovel Knight Cross Platform Discount

Today on Twitter Yacht Club Games announced the Shovel Knight Cross Platform Discount and it’s exclusive for the 3DS and Wii U versions of Shovel Knight. Bad news however because it’s only coming to players in Europe, Australia and New Zealand “as a thank you for enduring the long wait” because the game is due out sometime in November there.

Wait what do you mean that my game hasn't been released on the 3DS and Wii U yet. At least their getting the Shovel Knight Cross Platform Discount.

Wait what do you mean that my game hasn’t been released on the 3DS and Wii U yet.

How the Shovel Knight Cross Platform discount works is that if you own either the 3DS or Wii U version of the game, you’ll get a 33% discount on the other one. Shovel Knight is currently listed at €14.99 for both versions and the promotion will only last till the end of 2014. In order to take part you’ll need to have the same Nintendo Network ID on your 3DS and Wii U.

Your not going to be getting the exact same game either because there are some differences between the Wii U and 3DS versions. The 3DS version comes with stereoscopic 3D, play coin support as well as the StreetPass battle area. Guarded by the Passmaster Super Skeleton, the StreetPass arena plays out in 3 five second Mario Bros styled matches between two ghosts. How they’ll work is that inside the StreetPass arena you’ll record your 3 rounds without seeing what your opponents will do, and then the two ghost times will fight it out to either collect the most gems or hit the other ghost first.

For the Wii U version you’ll be able to play the game off-screen on the GamePad, supports the Wii U Pro Controller, Wii remote, Wii remote + Nunchuck, Wii Classic Controller and the Wii Classic Controller Pro. The Wii U version will also have Miiverse Support through the Digger’s Diary. The Digger’s Diary will be in the GamePad and will allow players to place messages that other players can then get some advice if their stuck. The messages (which were inspired by the Soul series) are divided up room by room and you can also use the more post button if a room is cramped full of messages, and you want to read some other messages. You’ll also be able to choose a post Avatar based on the Knights and characters from the game.

Today on Twitter Yacht Club Games announced that 3DS and Wii U gamers in Europe, Australia and New Zealand will be able to take advantage of their Shovel Knight Cross Platform Discount once the game is finally released. The date is still to be confirmed but is set for sometime in November.
