Oliver McCracken Middle School of Skokie had their classes cancelled for two days in succession to give room for police department on Skokie to undergo an investigation. Some photos posted on Instagram have raised a lot of concern on the possibility of a threat to this school which is located in Skokie. Sixth grade students received some inappropriate and threatening posts via social media and this has been brought to the attention of police officers. This nature of this Instagram post is yet to be known and CBS have reported that serious attention is being taken on this situation by the police. They have gone a step further to calling for help from federal agents in order to investigate on the matter. Parents got letters from the dean bearing information on the series of the threatening photos threat were send via Instagram.  The letter stated that some students are allowing anonymous users who they are following to access their Instagram accounts and thus able to view the comments and photos by the students and also post their own comments.

Considering that these posts were posted on specific time, date and location, the police department in Skokie are in the process of determining how plausible and reasonable these threats are.  According to Fox Chicago, the administrators are giving a help hand to the police to improve on the security for this school in order for the students to resume their studies as soon as possible. Police in Skokie have asked for aid in investigation and Ross Rice who is a former FBI agent and a CBS security had a comment on these events. He said that the digital footprint left behind by people is indelible and by the use of special expertise it will be easy to find it and trace it.  He gave an assurance that within a matter of days the one who send those photos and posts will be known.
