Monday is a dreadful day, regardless if you’re forced to go to work or just simply have to put up with nagging school-teachers all day long. But it’s not all bad, as Monday is also the time of the week when we’re looking at what’s coming out this week in terms of games. And this particular week of February promises to be a great one, considering various great titles are set for launch. So let’s sum up them up!
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII – Xbox 360, Playstation 3
Lightning is back, and ready to save the world and Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 users alike. A lot of new features are introduced to make sure that the game stands out, including a dynamic world, a revised combat system, some epic cut-scenes and the possibility to customize Lightning to your own style. All this, combined with the legacy of the story-line makes Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII one of the most anticipated games of the week and of the month. The game will be released on the 11th of February, Tuesday.
Far Cry Classic – Xbox 360, Playstation 3
Far Cry Classic is also coming on Tuesday, the 11th, bringing the 2004 classic to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, with an improved graphical engine and revised cut-scenes. For $10, it’s quite the bargain, especially if you’ve missed playing the original back in the day.
Far Cry Compilation – Playstation 3
Ubisoft is celebrating 10 years of Far Cry, so Far Cry Compliation is being released on Tuesday aswell, bringing Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon to the Playstation 3 in one big (and accessible) bundle. This is your chance to see Vaas in action once more, and it’s also a great chance to refresh your memory of the series in preparation of the upcoming Far Cry 4 (which is more or less a given at this point).
Dragon-Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc – PS Vita
PS Vita users will also be getting a treat on Tuesday, with Dragon-Ronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc bringing some manga story-telling to the portable screens. To murder or not to murder? This is the question. If you’re into manga or simply want a great story-line, make sure to pick it up.
Borderlands 2 – Mad Moxxi and the Wedding Day Massacre – Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC
No, this is not a Game of Thrones-themed Borderlands 2 expansion. It’s just the latest DLC for Borderlands 2, bringing back the Innuendo Bot 5000 and its creator, Mad Moxxi. New interesting content will be added to the game, for a very reasonable price ($2.99), on the 11th of February, Tuesday.
Hegemony Rome: The Rise of Caesar – PC
Early access for Hegemony Rome begins on Wednesday, the 12th. This RTS (created by Longbow Games) will set players in the 1st Century BC., in the very depths of the Roman Empire. The game will launch via the Steam Early Access program, so if you’re looking for a new RTS to sink your teeth into, this one might just do the trick.
The Lego Movie Videogame – – Xbox One, Playstation 4, Wii U, PC, PS Vita, 3DS
Ugh, that title seems dreadful enough. Still, based on the success of the animated LEGO Movie (released just a few days ago for theaters around the globe), this game might actually be fairly good. It’s coming to all major platforms on Friday, the 14th. Which means it’s just in time for Valentine’s Day, allowing you to spend time with the love of your life…your favorite gaming platform.
The Last of Us: Left Behind – Playstation 3
The highly anticipated DLC for The Last of Us arrives on Sony Playstation 3 consoles this week, also just in time for Valentine’s, on the 14th of February. Ellie is back, and teams up with Riley for a few hours of breathtaking adventures. Considering how successful and popular The Last of Us was, expectations are extremely high for this DLC. Will it deliver? Grab it on Friday and find out!
