The speed-runner Allakazzaror has set the new no glitch Dark Souls 2 speed-run at 59:36.52
Since its release Dark Souls 2 has seen many players speed-running the game in an attempt to get the best time and to give it a bit more of a challenge, but while these runs tend to be based around exploiting glitches to skip most of the game, speed-runner Allakazzaror has set a new Dark Souls 2 speed-run record at 59:36.52 without using any such glitches.
In order to reach that time Allakazzaror took advantage of the Sunken Crown DLC to get the extra Bonfire Assectics needed to beat the Rotten 4 times in order to open the Shrine of Winter. While he did come close to failing at certain points (such as the time wasted on Velstadt) Allakazzaror managed to beat the Dark Souls 2 speed-run time with no armour, a couple of brightbugs (Sunken Crown item), some gold pine resin and the Key of the Embedded.
Since most Dark Souls 2 speed-runs use glitches, the fact that he managed to clear the game in under an hour is extremely impressive and you can read what route he took here.
Over the weekend speed-runner Allakazzaror set the Dark Souls 2 speed-run record at 59:36.52. His first run was timed at 59:15 but it was invalid because his game was running fast.
