To think that at one point Eggman and Sonics Sonic Boom redesigns could have looked so drastically different
Ever since the unveiling of Sonic and co’s new designs for Sonic Boom, fans have been divided on whether they like the new designs or not but no matter what your opinion on the designs are, at least they didn’t turn out like some of the Sonic Boom redesigns that Kotaku revealed today.
For example some of the concept art for Sonic’s Sonic Boom design had Sonic either looking more hedgehog like or making Sonic look more like a kid. There’s also a small picture of Sonic and Co looking just like they do in other games (which you can see above), so at one point Sonic Boom may have looked more like the other games in the series. Kotaku also revealed images of possible redesigns for Eggman where he looked like a lanky teenage scientist with a peachfuzz beard.
Yes people this was some of the concept art for Eggmans Sonic Boom redesign.
Something interesting about Sonic Boom is that when the characters were being designed some members of Sonic Team felt “discomfort” with them but we don’t know if any of these designs are the ones that caused this “discomfort”.
