This Week on the Nintendo eShop (Week of 11/20/2014)

Nintendo has revealed the list of new downloadable titles and sales on its North American 3DS and Wii U eShops for the week of November 20, 2014.  Here’s the list of the digital content highlights releasing on Nintendo’s digital distribution platform within the next seven days.


 

On the 3DS eShop:

  • Battleminer ($9.99)

Set in an open-world blocky island filled with mutant Ants, your goal in Battleminer is to rescue Survivors that have been taken hostage by those creatures by mining for resources and other materials to craft additional gear. If saving humanity isn’t your thing, Battleminer also has a Creative mode that allows you to build whatever you feel like building and share it with the world with Miiverse. You’ll notice strong similarities with Minecraft while experiencing this title.

 

  • Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire ($39.99 Each)

Re-explore the massive region of Hoenn with the remakes of the 2002 GBA games Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire. As a brand new Pokémon trainer, your goal will obviously be to train and capture various Pokémon in order to, ultimately, become champion of the Pokémon League, but ORAS also has a new mysterious hook around it with its Mega Evolutions, which are abilities that Pokémons can use to become stronger. Will you be able to catch them all?

 

  • Fishdom H20: Hidden Odyssey (Free Demo)

A free demo for the underwater Hidden Object title, Fishdom H20: Hidden Odyssey, is now available on the eShop. You’ll be able to test out the interactive and customizable environments within the title to see if it worth the $3.99 purchase (currently on sale) afterwards.


 

On the Wii U eShop:

  • Alphadia Genesis ($14.99)

15 years after the horrible incidents of the Energi Wars, the kingdoms of Augustine and Archleigh are now at peace. Unfortunately, conflicts of natural interests come up between both kingdoms and it’s up to Fray and Corone to go on an epic RPG adventure to mediate on the situation.

 

  • Snake Den ($3.99)

Inspired by the classic Snake video game, Snake Den is a competitive challenge game that is all about high scores and multiplayer fun. Featuring five worlds and 100 levels, Snake Den is only about cunning, sheer luck and reflexes in order to be the best snake around.

 

  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U ($59.99)

The time has finally come: Super Smash Bros. is finally releasing on the Wii U this week, alongside an amazing array of additional features present within the game and outside of it. First off, Smash Wii U will the first time the franchise will be displayed in glorious 1080p high definition as well as in 60 frames per second, creating a visually stunning experience. With the new modes like Master Orders, Crazy Orders, Smash Tour, the ability to play retro demos for each character’s original game, as well as Amiibo and Gamecube controller support, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is shaping up to be the best Smash to date and one of the hottest games of this Holiday season. Additionally, those who have registered both copies of Smash 3DS and Wii U on Club Nintendo will receive a Special Soundtrack CD and the Mewtwo DLC for 2015.

 

  • Watch Dogs ($59.99)

After months of anticipation, Wii U owners can finally experience Aiden Pearce’s hacking adventure through Chicago with Watch Dogs. This version takes full advantage on the console’s GamePad with a detailed and interactive map of the city displayed on the controller at all times. With hacking being as simple as pressing a single button, Chicago will be Aiden’s own weapon to shape up his revenge.

 

  • ZaciSa’s Last Stand (Free Demo)

Still on the fence about spending the $1.99 required to purchase this 2D Tower Defense title set in space? Well, lucky for you, a free demo is now available for ZaciSa’s Last Stand, so that you can see if you’ll be able to survive the slaughter that will happen while playing this game.


 

On both the 3DS and Wii U eShops:

  • The Penguins of Madagascar ($29.99 for the 3DS Version, $39.99 for the Wii U Version)

Based on the upcoming Madagascar spinoff movie, The Penguins of Madagascar has you solve multiple environmental puzzles by using penguin teamwork. It will be available on November 25.


 

On the 3DS Virtual Console:

There are no games releasing on the 3DS Virtual Console this week.


 

On the Wii U Virtual Console:

  • DK: King of Swing ($6.99)

King of Swing is an extremely accessible title that relies solely on shoulder button controls. As Donkey Kong, you must recover the medals stolen by King K. Kool using Cranky Kong’s grabbing, climbing and swinging techniques across pegs. Explore Adventure Mode’s five worlds or take on some puzzle-based levels in Jungle Jam mode with this GBA game originally released in 2005.


 

eShop sales:

  • Big Hero 6 Battle in the Bay (3DS)

 This movie-based title will be more than 30 percent off from November 26 to December 10 on the 3DS eShop, making it $19.99 instead of $29.99.

  • Classic Games Overload: Card & Puzzle Edition (3DS)

This title is more than 30 percent off until December 1 on the 3DS eShop, making it $19.99 instead of $29.99.

  • Disney Frozen: Olaf’s Quest (3DS)

This movie-based title will be more than 30 percent off from November 26 to December 10 on the 3DS eShop, making it $19.99 instead of $29.99.

  • Jeopardy! & Wheel of Fortune (Wii U) 

These games, as well as selected other titles from Nordic games, will be on sale from November 25 to December 2 on the Wii U eShop.

  • Ping 1.5+ (Wii U)

This title will be 50 percent off from November 26 to December 3 on the Wii U eShop, making it $2.49 instead of $4.99.

  • Real Heroes: Firefighter 3D (3DS)

This game will be more than 50 percent off from November 25 to December 4 on the 3DS eShop, making it $4.99 instead of $9.99.

  • The Keep (3DS)

This title is more than 30 percent off until December 4 on the 3DS eShop, making it $7.99 instead of $12.99.

  • The Letter (Wii U)

This game is more than 75 percent off until November 30 on the Wii U eShop, making it $0.49 instead of $1.99.

  • Yumi’s Odd OdysseyHarvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns (3DS)

These titles, as well as other games from Natsume, will be on sale from November 25 to December 1 on the 3DS eShop.


 

And finally, retail games making their way into the eShop:

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (3DS – $29.99)

Based on Micheal Bay’s Summer blockbuster, TMNT has you facing the dangerous criminals of New York City with the four turtles, which you can switch between from on the fly.

  • The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (3DS & Wii U – $19.99 and $49.99 respectively)

Both Amazing Spider-Man movie-based titles are making their way to the eShop, so you’ll be able to swing as the iconic comic book superhero on your 3DS or Wii U.
