Get ready for more combat, death and yes more loot with Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel’s Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode
You might want to bring a friend or three with you when you take on the Ultimate Vault Hunter mode.
Players who can’t get enough of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be happy to hear that Gearbox Software will be giving players a new playthrough free in the next update. The new playthrough is called the Ultimate Vault Hunter and will be unlocked for any character who clears the story and has reached level 50.
Once the players are in Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, they’ll be tossed into a world where enemies and the games bosses scale with either you or the highest member of your group. On top of the scaling regular enemies will also get a 1.5x health and a 1.5x shield multiplayer and badass enemies get a 2.5x health and 3.5x shield multiplayer. All elemental weapons and gear will also get a boost in effectiveness too.
A tougher challenge of course comes with better rewards so in the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode players will get better loot and gear from both chests and from enemy drops. Enemies will also be more likely to drop more ammo too which will come in handy, especially considering the already mentioned upgraded enemies. Finally this mode players will also be able to reset their mission progress at any time, meaning that (in theory) you’ll be able to continue taking on missions with the same character forever.
The Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode will be coming to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in a free update to all versions of the game. Xbox 360 players should expect to see the update on December 11th, while PS3 and Steam users will have to wait till December 16th.
