Unmechanical Extended Edition Cancelled For PS Vita

The developers of Unmechanical Extended Edition announced today that the PS Vita version has been cancelled. This news came from a press announcement which stated:

“We also regret to announce that for the time being, we have cancelled the planned PlayStation Vita version. While it is possible that this version will eventually be released, it definitely won’t be simultaneously with other versions.”

The PS4 and PS3 versions of the game will still be releasing in the first quarter of 2015. Additionally, Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions will also be released in 2015.

Fans of the plat-former can still have a little hope that the title maybe released at some point in the future since the press release states, “for the time being”, although it is unlikely that the PS Vita version will ever see the light of day. If the PS Vita version is ever released expect it to be cross-buy with the PS3/PS4 versions of the title as Unmechanical was originally cross-buy for PS4/PS3/PS Vita.

With the huge announcements for the PS Vita at the Playstation Experience last week, it is a shame that Sony’s handheld could to build upon the momentum of the event and instead has lost a highly rated game.
